1 APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD - FOR TEAM LEADER/SUPERVISOR LEVEL 3 OVERVIEW For new and aspiring managers who are in their First Line Management role. They will have responsibility for leading teams and delivering defined personal and business goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Includes day to day supporting, managing and developing team members. 2 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Suggested minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above / Appropriate Role FUNCTIONAL SKILLS Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment COURSE DURATION This programme is approximately 15 months in duration QUALIFICATION / AWARDING BODY Where selected, Key Group can offer the Level 3 Diploma in Management through awarding bodies including The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) or SkillsFirst COURSE CONTENT Our programmes are a mix of flexible blended options, which we will discuss with you to ensure we fit in with your day-to-day operation. To develop the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours included in the Standard; we can include workshops, online training, webinars, line management, coaching and mentoring, as well as independent study. KNOWLEDGE Delivered through stand-up workshops, 1:1 teaching, online training, webinars and independent study as appropriate to the business. SKILLS Will be acquired and demonstrated via continuous professional development throughout the duration of the course. As a frontline representative of the business, these people will be required to deal with customers in a positive, reliable and professional manner and create a strong, positive impression on behalf of your business. Business Administration Business Administrators handle the day-to-day tasks in an office environment and are considered crucial to the success of any business. The job role of a business administration apprentice will depend on the requirements of the employer and requires a strong sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail. We continuously monitor the Standards as they are released by the Government and will be expanding our portfolio to meet customer demand. ASSESSMENT There are four components that make up the End Point for the Team Leader / Supervisor Apprenticeship Level 3 Standard: Knowledge test using scenarios and questions Structured competency based interview of portfolio evidence Professional discussion PROFESSIONAL BODY ALIGNMENT On completion, apprentices may choose to register with the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), to support their professional career development and progression. 5 Team Leader / Supervisor Level 3 (approximately 15 months) A Team Leader/Supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationships internally and externally. This apprenticeship has been designed to provide access to development opportunities for as wide a range of individuals as possible. This includes individuals who are at the start of their career in leadership and management and who wish to take their first steps into professional management. It is also appropriate for those already in management roles who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills. Roles/Occupations may include: Supervisor, Team Leader, Project Officer, Shift Supervisor, Foreperson and Shift Manager. Know how to facilitate cross team working to support delivery of organisational objectives. Understand different forms of communication and their application. Know how to chair meetings, hold challenging conversations, provide constructive feedback and understand how to raise concerns. ORGANISATIONAL PERFORMANCE - DELIVERING RESULTS OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT PROJECT MANAGEMENT FINANCE Understand how organisational strategy is developed. Know how to implement operational/team plans and manage resources and approaches to managing change within the team. Understand data management, and the use of different technologies in business. Understand the project lifecycle and roles. Know how to deliver a project including: managing resources, identifying risks and issues, using relevant project management tools. Understand organisational governance and compliance, and how to deliver Value for Money. Know how to monitor budgets to ensure efficiencies and that costs do not overrun. PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS MANAGING AWARENESS OF SELF MANAGEMENT OF SELF DECISION MAKING Know how to be self-aware and understand unconscious bias and inclusivity. Understand learning styles, feedback mechanisms and how to use emotional intelligence. Understand time management techniques and tools, and how to prioritise activities and approaches to planning. Able to organise, manage resources and risk,and monitor progress to deliver against the project plan. Ability to use relevant project management tools, and take corrective action to ensure successful project delivery. Applying organisational governance and compliance requirements to ensure effective budget controls. PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS MANAGING SELF SELF AWARENESS MANAGEMENT OF SELF DECISION MAKING Able to reflect on own performance, seek feedback, understand why things happen, and make timely changes by applying learning from feedback received. Able to create an effective personal development plan, and use time management techniques to manage workload and pressure.
