3 Registered PASMA Centre Number: 799 PASMA are committed to the highest standards of practice and operate the industry standard training scheme which trains thousands of delegates each year through a select network of approved training centres. All PASMA training centres are audited annually to ensure that they continue to meet the stringent standard. The Work at Height Regulations 2005, require that the assembly, dismantling, alteration or use of Mobile Access Towers should only be undertaken by a competent person, or if being trained, under the supervision of a competent person. Many workplaces now demand PASMA proof of competence. 4 MEWP Training All MEWP Courses can Be Delivered or accredited by IPAF/NPORS 1 to 3 Days dependent on machine type(s) and candidate s ability and declared experience. Course Title MEWP Scissor MEWP Boom COURSE ENTRY CRITERIA: All delegates must be able to understand and speak fluent English. As the use of MEWP s can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit, in good health and should generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights/vertigo, giddiness/difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. If you have any problems or you have any doubts about your fitness to use MEWP s, you must bring them to the attention of your employer. This need not preclude you from using MEWP s, provided your employer conducts an assessment and is able to put in place adequate measures to take account of any difficulties you may have. COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the end of the course, the operator will: Be instructed on the relevant Health and Safety regulations for MEWPs. Be aware of accident prevention and control of working at height procedures and rescue plans. Be aware of the needs regarding personnel protection. Be aware of the need to refer to the machines operating manual and manufacturer s instructions. Operate and drive the MEWP safely/correctly and manoeuvre the machine as required, to carry out the required tasks in a correct and safe manner, inside buildings and outside a building

5 Warehouse & Forklift Truck Training All Forklift and Warehouse Courses can be delivered either or NPORS accredited. All courses are up to 5 Days Dependent on experience. This is not as costly or as time consuming as you might think. JJ Training (UK) offers two services: Trainees can attend our training facility Our fully qualified assessors and trainers can visit the trainee s place of work for site specific training Available Courses Basic Operators (Novice) This course is for anyone wishing to learn to drive a Forklift truck without any prior experience. Duration: 5 Days Conversion Training If you already hold a licence for a counterbalance truck or reach truck and would like to obtain certification for another Forklift Truck, then this course is designed for you. Duration: 1 Day Experienced Operator This course is for those who already have experience driving a forklift truck, but don t yet hold the necessary certification Duration: 3 Days Appointed Person, Slinger Signaller and Crane Supervisor

It is recommended that prior to attending this course individuals should have some experience of working with lifting equipment, especially mobile cranes. Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate of training along with a photo ID card endorsed with the category Appointed Person. Please note that on major construction sites this may not satisfy the training requirements where a CPCS card is required. Course Title Course Duration Delegates Accreditation Slinger/Signaller Four consecutive days 6 Maximum NPORS, This course is aimed at inexperienced operators with limited experience and no formal training who are required to undertake slinging and signalling for the movement of loads using lifting equipment. It is designed to provide candidates with practical and theoretical knowledge so that they may professionally and confidently carry out the role of slinger/signaller. Following successful completion of the course candidates will be able to select the correct lifting accessories, attach them to loads safely and guide the load using the appropriate hand signals. From September 10th 2009 all commercial LGV Drivers will need to complete 35 hours of training before 9th September 2014 and hold a Driver CPC in addition to their vocational licence. If you are a new LGV driver taking a test in either category C1 or C after 10th September 2009 you will need to pass all 4 modules of the Driver CPC to be able to driver commercially

9 Health & Safety The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 was introduced to ensure the Health & Safety of all people who either work or visit your place of work. JJ TRAINING offers a wide range of courses to ensure that your company continues to meet their statutory obligations in promoting a health & safety culture. We understand that each working environment is unique; therefore our training professionals will work closely with our clients to ensure that the training we deliver is tailored to meet their exact needs. We can offer accredited and cost effective training at our centre or at your premises. Manual Handling Manual Handling ½ Day 12 Maximum NPORS, Highfields The Manual Handling Operations Regulations of 1992 identify the most common cause of absence at work as being due to manual handling accidents. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations also place a duty on employers where appropriate to conduct manual handling risk assessments and provide appropriate manual training. This 1 day course is designed to help explain the problems associated with manual handling in the workplace. It will also demonstrate the basic principles and techniques of manual handling and provide key information to help reduce the likelihood of injury by emphasising a common sense syllabus. Fire Safety Fire Safety/Fire Marshall ½ Day 12 Maximum NPORS, Highfields Fire can occur even at well maintained premises, so it is important that your workforce is fully trained in fire safety. JJ Training can provide both on and off-site training for new and existing staff. Courses can be tailored to the type and size of your business, incorporating your fire safety policy and emergency procedures, and at a time that suits your work schedule.

10 First Aid Courses Emergency First Aid at Work 1 Day 12 Maximum NPORS. Highfields This Course is ideal for lower risk businesses and is delivered in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations. It covers both theory and practical sessions, designed to boost a learner s confidence whilst giving them a professional understanding of emergency first aid at Work First Aid at Work 3 Days 12 Maximum NPORS,Highfields This is a fully Approved First Aid at Work course in accordance with the Health & Safety Regulations This course can be adapted to suit and once qualified; holders of this First aid at Work Certificate can operate as First Aiders within the Workplace. The course includes both theory and practical training. It is normally delivered over three consecutive days; however the course can be run non-consecutively for example, one day a week over three weeks. First Aid Annual Refresher ½ Day 12 Maximum NPORS, Highfields This course is ideal for keeping your first aiders up to date. It is suitable for people who have completed the EFAW or the FAW course. First Aid at Work Re-Qualification 2 Days 12 Maximum NPORS, Highfields This course allows for re-certification of First Aid at Work qualified staff. It is normally delivered over two consecutive days. Note: Learners attending this course must be in possession of a valid First Aid at Work certificate which is not out of date by more than 28 days

11 Automated External Defibrillation (AED) 1/2 Day 12 Maximum Highfields, Delivered either at our own training centre or at a location that best suits the client, the course is delivered using robust theory sessions enhanced with practical training that will leave the learner confident in the use of resuscitation techniques. Paediatric First Aid 1 Day 12 Maximum Highfields The paediatric first aid course is an essential requirement for those people who work with younger children. It also meets Ofsted Requirements under the Approved Carers Scheme and the Early Years foundation stage of statutory framework. The course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by professionals every day and will give the learner the required skills and confidence to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.

The Award is for new entrants to the Lifelong Learning Sector and also suits people already working in the field who need the minimum threshold status as a teacher within a FE college, adult and community learning centre, work based learning or training organisations and want to gain official qualifications. Successful Candidates will be able to: Describe their own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching Demonstrate appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialist area Demonstrate their session planning skills plan, deliver, observe and evaluate a micro teach session Demonstrate how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners Demonstrates the use of different assessment methods Explain the need for accurate record keeping and procedures including internal and external assessment information Assessing Vocational Achievement Course Title Course Duration Accreditation Assessing Vocational Eighteen (18) Weeks Highfields Achievement This course does not require you to have previous qualifications but must be occupationally competent and appropriately qualified in the subject being assessed. You must have access to two students who you can assess in the workplace and/or classroom environment as appropriate.
