3 Background Middle East Workers Academy is not for profit company limited by guarantee duly incorporated under the Companies Act, Cap.110 as a body corporate (CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION No Though, created in 2017 it was officially incorporated on 13 th by two development professionals, who were inspired by the need to address challenges that were faced by Ugandans citizens who were migrating to the Middle East to seek employment as domestic workers. The challenges among others included heinous acts that were perpetuating abuse of human rights and fundamental freedoms of the migrant workers which in extreme of cases resulted into suicidal acts 1, the media reported cases such as, forced labour and abusive employment, mistreatment of nannies, post Middle East unemployment, confiscation of travel documents. The International Labour Organization (ILO) suggests that training is one of the actions that can help improve the employee-employer relations of Domestic Workers and their Employers. Training also increases performance and productivity. It is behind this background that the two professional adult educators decided to form an organization that would handle these challenges through training while guided by the vision and mission elaborated here under, the purpose for which this strategic plan has been formulated to take this vision forward as thus; Our vision Is to be world class skills and professional training organization that produces an empowered, competitive and productive workforce for Middle East and contributes to the Economic Growth of Uganda. Mission. To Empower Middle East Workers with knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that foster productivity and competitiveness for socioeconomic wellbeing. Values.
