POSITION OVERVIEW Ermha values and provides a range of evidence based training to support a better understanding of and responsiveness to people with mental health and disability support needs. This training is provided externally and internally to Ermha staff. Page 1 of 5

2 The role of the Business Development Manager Training is to take responsibility for the overall management and development of Ermha s training services. The Business Development Manager Training will: Lead the growth and enhancement of training provided externally Ensure the quality, viability and sustainability of training services that aligns with Ermha s vision, purpose and values Drive the ongoing marketing of training services Review current training offered to Ermha staff Develop a model for the delivery of training to Ermha staff that is sustainable into the future and aligns with Ermha s Strategic Plan Evaluate and review all training offered to ensure content and facilitation is of a high level and consistent with current evidence and best practice. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Business Development This role will lead the development and marketing of external training offered by Ermha. Key aspects of this work include: Ongoing market research and engagement with current and future customers to ensure Ermha maintains a comprehensive and current understanding of training needs and opportunities for business growth Oversee the development of external training packages to respond to identified needs Ensure appropriate resourcing to enhance existing training and develop and deliver training in new markets Development and implementation of a marketing strategy to grow Ermha s training business Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including existing partnerships with Government departments, funding bodies and other Community Service organisations. Build relationships with universities and other key stakeholders to support product research and development Internal Training Development This role will oversee the development and delivery of training for Ermha staff, including specialised training to enhance service delivery and will include: Reviewing and evaluating internal training to ensure the packages are relevant, maintained and integrated into practice requirements Page 2 of 5

3 Development and delivery of training to Ermha staff to enhance and develop practice Liaising with key internal stakeholders and enhancement of internal training capacity utilising staff expertise Leading a research agenda with a focus on the evaluation of training within Ermha Evaluation and continuous improvement Ensure the review and evaluation of each training event and build quality controls and practices to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of training offered Ensure ongoing review mechanisms are in place that include feedback from training participants and key internal and external stakeholders Staff Supervision and Support Develop and lead a high performing team of trainers ensuring business objectives are achieved Provide effective and positive leadership, modelling cooperation and mutual support and make a positive contribution to a collaborative and harmonious professional environment Ensure trainers are provided with regular support, supervision and appropriate training and professional development opportunities Participate in the recruitment and orientation of new trainers Conduct annual performance appraisals for all direct reports Service Accountability and Financial Management Ensure appropriate resourcing of the training function, develop and manage the training budget and deliver training services within budget Ensure compliance with requirements of legislation, external funding bodies and internal organisational requirements in a timely manner Prepare considered and well written reports to the Chief Executive Officer reflecting achievements, challenges, exceptions and actions in accordance with reporting timelines Ensure achievement of all performance targets and other KPI s Ensure identification of relevant risks and oversee and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies Additional Responsibilities Implement the contemporary Vision, Purpose and Objectives of Ermha Uphold and model Ermha s values Page 3 of 5

4 Contribute as a positive, collaborative and active member of the Ermha management team Promote a spirit of cooperation and professionalism across the organisation Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, comply with Ermha s OH&S policies and procedures and actively ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others at work Other duties as required KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Relevant tertiary qualifications and ideally a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Demonstrable experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of learning products Strong business development skills and capacity Highly developed interpersonal and networking skills and a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence effectively to build productive relationships with stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to tailor information to different audiences Demonstrated ability to manage and develop services including service evaluation, implementation of strategic priorities, policy development and financial management Excellent people management skills, a consultative and collaborative leadership style and a demonstrated ability to supervise and support staff Knowledge of the community services sector and an understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and its impact on outcomes for clients and existing models of service delivery. A high level of computer literacy and a current Victorian Driver s Licence are essential FURTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION Employment will be subject to satisfactory results from Police and Working with Children s Checks New employees are subject to the successful completion of a 6 month Probation Review The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of their right to work in Australia All Ermha employees will be expected to participate in annual performance reviews Page 4 of 5
