Thanks to early support from the Arts Council and other funders, Polka is on track to raise the necessary funds for the first capital redevelopment in our 40-year history. This is an exciting time of transition and renewal for Polka. We are seeking a highly motivated individual, who is looking to develop their career in fundraising and gain broad experience across several fundraising disciplines. The role supports the Capital Campaign Director and Development Team across primarily capital, but also revenue fundraising and offers the opportunity to own specific aspects of Polka s fundraising activity. Polka Theatre is a rare and special place. We are a leading UK theatre and one of just a handful of venues dedicated to children. Since opening our Wimbledon home in 1979, over 3.5 million children and their families, teachers and carers have experienced magical live theatre, often for the very first time, alongside letting their imaginations take flight in our indoor and outdoor play spaces. 4 JOB DESCRIPTION Marketing Implement tactical marketing campaigns, assisting the Marketing Manager and the Marketing Coordinator to fulfil the schedule of planned marketing activity. Assist with the creation and fulfilment of direct mail campaigns. Help compile and proof printed marketing material, including the season brochure. Research potential new audiences by identifying groups, businesses, organisations, schools and individuals for Polka to work with. Assist in the organisation of promotional events and attend events as required. Assist with market research and the analysis of marketing campaigns, feeding results back into the planning process. Ensure the upkeep of print and front of house displays. Distribute posters, flyers and other promotional material as required and work to develop Polka s print distribution systems. Help implement Polka s customer relationship strategy updating the database and sending regular communications to audiences and supporters. Work with the Creative Learning Department to help promote Polka s community engagement, schools and access programme. Support the Marketing team and external Press contacts to deliver press campaigns Attend press performances, interviews, photo calls and other events, hosting press contacts and photographers as required Administration Assist in compiling content for show programmes. Liaise with visiting theatre companies, agencies and freelancers. Use Polka s data management systems to input data, make reports and maintain up-to-date contact information whilst adhering to the Data Protection Act. Provide administrative assistance, keeping filing systems up to date, responding to correspondence promptly and maintaining the database of marketing contacts. Represent Polka publicly as required at meetings and events. Ensure that Polka s brand is promoted and protected at all times. Help maintain Polka s archive - filing press reviews, programmes and marketing print. Take an active interest in Polka s work, watching all Polka productions. To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required in pursuit of the overall job purpose. Digital Marketing Update content on Polka s website as required. Assist the Marketing Co-ordinator in updating Polka s social media platforms. Generate content for Polka s website, blog and social media as required. Assist in the creation of campaigns writing copy, segmenting customer data, uploading copy and images.

5 PERSON SPECIFCATION Essential Excellent oral and written communication, time-management and presentation skills Ability to work collaboratively and to connect and work in partnership with others internally and externally Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and a track record of delivery Passion for theatre/arts industries Proficient in Word and Excel Creative flair for writing engaging copy and an enthusiasm to create new content Demonstrable understanding of digital marketing and print production Desirable Skills Experience in e-marketing and website maintenance. Familiar with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and imovie Salary: Contract: Hours: Holiday: 19,240 pro rata This is a permanent, part-time position, subject to a three-month probationary period. Two days (16 hours) per week. Days to be agreed with successful candidate days per annum including statutory public holidays. On completion of the threemonth probationary period, the post holder is entitled to take holiday accrued on a pro rata basis. Notice Period: Two months by either party during the probationary period and two months thereafter for both employee and employer.
