1 MEGT APPRENTICESHIP NETWORK PROVIDER DIVISION Objectives of the Division: Employment Consultant MEGT Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) is contracted to the Australian government through the Department of Education and Training (DET) to market and administer the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN). MEGT ANP offers a free service to employers, potential and current Australian Apprentices (includes apprentices and trainees) by: providing customised pre-commencement services designed to screen, test, stream and match apprentices (and apprenticeships) to potential employers completing and lodging National Training Contracts with the relevant State/Territory Training Authority determining eligibility for participation and government funding processing where applicable, incentive payments to employers and personal benefits and Trade Support Loans to Australian Apprentices providing advice to employers and Australian Apprentices on relevant training packages monitoring the progress of individual Australian Apprenticeships providing tailored support such as mentoring for Australian Apprentices and employers attending workplaces to provide support prior to and during the Australian Apprenticeship Objectives of the Position: MEGT are also contracted by the Department of Employment Small Business and Training (DESBT) to deliver a Community Work Skills program within the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Initiative. This role is to place disadvantaged people into sustainable employment, developing innovative solutions while providing a high standard of service. This position will liaise with a range of stakeholders assisting disadvantaged job seekers into sustainable employment and and influencing clients to achieve KPIs. The incumbent will undertake a variety of business development and account management related duties and will be required to effectively work with internal stakeholders at all levels to achieve set targets and KPIs. This role will facilitate and deliver a range of direct strategies and activities which support and deliver tailored employment and further education outcomes for MEGT s Skilling Queenslanders for Work contracts. The position will provide employability skills training, individual support, group activities and assistance to participants to overcome barriers to workforce participation as well as supporting employers when hiring the participants. The role is also responsible to collaborate and support the field consultants delivering the AASN contract and working on other project based employment programs. Relationships: Reporting to the Queensland State Manager. Working closely with all ANP staff and other MEGT staff as required Building and maintaining relationships with all external stakeholders and industry Liaising closely with ANP management as required. Qualifications, Skills and Attributes: Ability to manage employment projects placing disadvantaged people into sustainable employment Demonstrated account management skills Excellent people skills and the ability to offer an individualised, personal effective and supportive service to all clients Proven time management skills and flexibility to adjust priorities as required Good written communication skills including accurate spelling and grammar Ability to analyse and interpret a variety of internal and external guidelines and procedures Self-motivated with a passion for developing relationships Well presented with a professional, confident friendly image Ability to work independently and in a team environment and be receptive to change Ability to deliver excellent service to both clients and staff Confident to represent MEGT with an appropriate level of knowledge and professionalism Mature approach with empathy, tact and diplomacy when interacting with clients and staff Ability to display honest and ethical work practices whilst working in an autonomous role Continually strive for personal and organisational development Negotiation and counselling skills an advantage Current driver licence. Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the RTO to ensure the project is delivered in line with the contract Conduct marketing and promotion activities to recruit eligible participants Facilitate project information sessions for possible participants Conduct intake and assessment activities to determine eligibility, identify workforce participation barriers and develop individual learning and support plans for participants Ensure provision of quality case managed support to individuals requiring additional services to overcome workforce participation barriers Facilitate entry into accredited training for participants Provide support to, and ensure continued engagement of participants in accredited and nonaccredited training courses Provide pre-employment support to all participants Provide post-employment support to all participants Version: 01 Date: 25/07/2018 Page 2 of 5

3 Provide effective ongoing employer contact Ensure timely and accurate completion of all data entry and reporting requirements Record all contacts including goal setting, referral destinations and outcomes for individual clients Link participants with external support agencies and networks to ensure access to safe and secure accommodation, income support, employment, education, training and other services as appropriate Attend specific Skilling Queenslanders for Work networks Maintain statistics, relevant information, databases and other records as required. Complete monthly reports for the department and ensure they are completed accurately Promote the Skilling Queenslanders for Work contract in the region it is delivered in Liaise with relevant administrative staff as required Frequently communicate with and manage expectations of all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner Adhere to privacy legislation in the provision and sharing of information Collaboratively and co-operatively network with other local and broader community based organisations, RTOs and community groups and service providers Comply with internal policies, systems and objectives, including use of technology as directed Ensure all information is captured within systems by adhering to record keeping policies and procedures Conduct all business transactions in an ethical, friendly, efficient and professional manner. Note: This Position Description is indicative of the initial expectation of the role and subject to change in line with requirements of the Department of Education, Small Business and Training and/or MEGT s goals and priorities, activities or focus of the job. The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this level. Key Performance Indicators: As a minimum meet the contractual KPIs of the contract which are: o Completion Outcomes 65% of participants enrolled, successfully gain the required outcome of a qualification or statements of attainment o Employment Outcomes 55% of participants gain employment Aspire to achieve 90% for the above KPIs The total number of participants are enrolled onto the program for each of the three intakes and enrolled into the qualification The number of approved AHCs are delivered by the RTO Comply with all contract requirements Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction - positive feedback from external clients with no serious complaints received Satisfactory progress reports are compiled and lodged on time. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities: All staff are required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected by their conduct. National Police Check: All ANP staff are required to undertake a National Police Check prior to commencing employment. A State/Territory Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People Check may also be required by any applicable State/Territory legislation. A clearance to work with children in connection with the delivery of Network Support Services is mandatory. The National Police Check must be renewed every two years as a minimum.
