Summary job description To accommodate the evolving and growing needs of our international conservation team we are recruiting for an exciting new role to support our UK based conservation team and ensure effective delivery of a growing number of programmes across five countries (Belize, Comoros, Indonesia, Madagascar and Timor-Leste). The position will provide a broad range of support to both UK and field based colleagues. 2 We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual who will be pragmatic and resourceful, entrepreneurial, and sensitive to the needs and interests of Blue Ventures partner communities and stakeholders. We are looking for a creative, open minded and discerning individual, with excellent communications skills, attention to detail, and a strong technical background in environmental conservation and community development. The role offers the opportunity to gain experience working on a wide range of programmes, working as part of an interdisciplinary and international team. The position will report to Blue Ventures Conservations Projects and Grants Manager, and will be based in our Bristol office, with occasional overseas travel to work with partners and field teams. Responsibilities Support grant management: - Support system of managing donor narrative and financial reporting. - Work with the Conservations Projects and Grants Manager to ensure timely and high quality technical and financial reporting from all of Blue Ventures' conservation programmes to donors, according to agreed formats and supporting project managers as required. - Assist with preparation of budgets and spending updates for project managers, in collaboration with the finance team. - Assist with other donor administration requirements as needed. - Support project managers to ensure project management documents are updated and any lessons learnt are captured for programmes and funders. Support conservation programme delivery: - Provide administrative and logistical support, as required, to the UK conservation team to support quick and effective programme delivery. - Provide administrative and logistical support for field-based conservation teams, in particular in preparing relevant documents, reports and templates.

3 Communications: - Ensure that all staff working on conservation programmes, grant management and fundraising are kept up to date on new project developments when they arise. - Assist programme managers with other external communications when required e.g blogs and reports. - Other duties as required. Skills and experience Required - Bachelor s degree in relevant subject with minimum two years experience or - Postgraduate level qualification in relevant subject (e.g. environmental, marine or conservation science) - A strong desire to work in the marine conservation sector. - Experience of project management. - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment. - Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to complete tasks to deadlines. - Confident, strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, at all levels. - Excellent attention to detail. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Google Apps. - Fluency in written and spoken English. Desired - Experience working within an environmental conservation organisation with operations overseas. - Previous international organisation/ NGO experience, preferably involving some time spent overseas. - Experience of donor reporting. - Experience of financial reporting. - Competency in French, Spanish or Portuguese language skills
