Our core values guide how each one of us works in our individual day to day job: Involving others in our work Treating everyone with respect Being the best at what we do Being responsible and accountable GENERAL ROLE To effectively implement a community fundraising strategy across the North of Scotland, maximising funding opportunities in order for Children 1st to achieve its mission and meet its strategic objectives. As a member of the Fundraising Management Team (FMT), contribute to the development of collaborative strategic plans, direction and decision-making and proactively work towards the achievement of shared organisational and fundraising objectives.

2 REPORTING TO The post will be part of the Fundraising Management Team and report to the Head of Fundraising Development. The post directly line manages a team of fundraisers: Senior Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser based in Aberdeen Community Fundraiser based in Aberdeen North Fundraising Administrator based in Aberdeen Community Fundraiser based in Inverness KEY RESULTS AREAS Develop and deliver a community fundraising plan, incorporating income raising activities from companies, organisations, individuals and volunteer groups, for the North of Scotland to achieve or exceed income targets Manage the North Fundraising Team by setting operational objectives and work plans and developing appropriate processes and procedures to ensure review and revision of such plans Develop and implement a volunteer engagement programme which supports and engages existing volunteers and recruits new volunteers to raise funds for Children 1st Work with, and deliver support to, the Touch of Tartan Ball Committee to deliver their flagship annual ball (raising 100k+) in Aberdeen each year Develop annual income and expenditure budgets and regularly monitor them, taking effective remedial action where necessary, and ensure that appropriate reporting, monitoring and evaluation of activities takes place Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate a broad range of community fundraising activities, projects and promotions to sustain existing support and engage new supporters, working to a donor-led approach. To represent Children 1st appropriately at functions, meetings and events and deliver compelling cases for support in writing and orally whether to one person or large groups. Collaborate with the wider Children 1st fundraising and communications team and children services colleagues to plan and implement community fundraising campaigns As a member of the Fundraising Management Team, contribute to the development of the Fundraising strategy, leading on community fundraising Ensure all North regional fundraising activity complies with Children 1st policies and procedures

4 PERSON SPECIFICATION ROLE: Regional Community Fundraiser North AREA ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE Qualifications A good standard of education Membership of the Institute of Fundraising Education to degree level Fundraising qualification Experience Experience in marketing, sales or fundraising management Experience of developing and monitoring budgets and KPIs, reallocating resources as necessary to maximise impact Experience in managing key external relationships Proven track record in managing, supporting and developing staff Previous experience in managing and supporting volunteers Knowledge A high level of commercial awareness with an understanding of the needs of corporate supporters Excellent knowledge of the principles and methods for community and corporate fundraising supported by practical experience Knowledge of volunteer management supported by practical experience Skills Professional approach with excellent formal and informal oral communication skill Excellent written and presentation skills, to prepare and present high impact Experience of working in large, complex institutions Proven operational planning experience. Knowledge of legislation and Fundraising codes of practice Knowledge of fundraising operational procedures (health and safety, finance etc) Software packages: Windows, Raiser s Edge Creative, highly resilient
