2 PDC Wednesday, October 17-8:00 am - 4:00 pm Using the Business Case for Prevention through Design (PtD) Interventions This PDC gives participants the foundation to develop the value proposition around financial and non-financial benefits for proposed or existing IH and EHS programs and projects. Participants will learn to use the AIHA Value Strategy and the Prevention through Design standard as the framework and Excel-based tools as the instrument to develop the financial and non-financial side of a sound business case. This methodology will be illustrated by detailed case studies which used the Business Case Developer Tool to select the best solution among alternative solutions with similar risks to the worker, to justify continuing existing industrial hygiene projects and programs, and to determine the financial and non-financial value to their organization of a proposed IH project or program. Additionally, the participants will learn how to present the business case in a format that clearly shows the alignment with and support of the organizations business goals and priorities.
