1 Job Title Department Grade Finance & Business Manager Central Management M1 Date Prepared July 2018 Reports to Chief Executive Job Purpose (a brief statement summarising the overall responsibility of the post) The Finance & Business Manager will be a member of the Senior Team and provide support and leadership of the following areas; HR & Payroll Health & Safety Data Protection Financial Management Buildings and Maintenance General Administration A significant proportion of the post holder s time will be working with and supporting the Trustees and Chief Executive in the financial management reporting of the charity. This includes monthly management reports, forecasts and budget setting in partnership with all senior staff. Main Duties and Responsibilities (what are the main responsibilities of the job? Take responsibility for the effective management and maintenance of all financial systems and administration and ensure compliance with financial regulations. 2. To prepare monthly financial management reports for senior staff and Trustees and attend quarterly board meetings to present financial performance against agreed budgets. 3. To assist with the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the budget in accordance with best value principles. To be responsible for the selection and management of resources, including management of a budget and regular audit of resources. 4. To work with the Central Management team on the day to day and strategic aspects of health and safety, HR procedures, data protection and buildings maintenance. 6. To compile regular reports to the board outlining the performance of the Central Managements against agreed KPI s and compliance against all statutory accountabilities under your remit. 7. To ensure all records are maintained, stored securely and up to date highlighting any issues to other senior staff. 8. To be responsible for all contracts held by the charity and renewal processes in partnership with the Central Management Team. 9. To be the main contact for the Charity s annual audit of accounts and be the lead officer in the preparation of all statutory returns % 10% 10% 5% 5% 5% 10. We provide Specialist Services programmes, Children s Centre services and activities for families within Bedford, and 3 Community Nurseries in Goldington, Wootton and Queens Park.
