1 How to Apply for a Job on Campus Student Employment Programs Visit the Student Employment Webpage 2. Scroll to Student Jobs in the Applicant Tracking System and select Click Here. 3. Search job postings under the following job catgories: a. Regular Student Job- All students can apply for positions posted under this category. b. Federal Work Study Student Job- Only students with a Federal Work Study Award can apply for positions posted under this category. Check with Financial Aid or your My ISU Portal to verify an award has been granted. c. Graduate Student Job- Only graduate students can apply for these positions. d. Graduate Assistantship- Only graduate students can apply for these positions. These positions are Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships, Clincial Interns, and/or Administrative Interns. Review the College of Graduate and Professional Studies website for definitions e. 2 4. Review the positions. Click on the Title of the job for more information. We strongly advise that you apply for the Sample Student Employment Job first to learn the system. After you have applied for the sample job we recommend that you schedule an appointment with Student Employment Programs using Sycamore Career Link to have your application reviewed prior to applying for additional jobs because after you apply for a job you cannot make any changes to your application for that position. 4 How to apply for a job instructions updated 1/5/2015 2

3 5. Review the entire posting to determine if you are qualified and to see if there are any required documents needed to apply for the position. If you would like to apply for the job select Apply to this job Select Login (if you have applied for a job using the system before) or Create an Account (if this is your first time using the system or if you applied for a job using the old system). Complete the required fields for the Personal Information section then select Next Complete the required fields then select Add Post High School Education Entry Enter your school s information and major information. 7 Enter any training or additional information related to the job that sells your qualifications then select Next Enter your employment and/or volunteer history by selecting Add Employment/Volunteer History Entry. How to apply for a job instructions updated 1/5/2015 7

8 Complete the required fields. Your information should be listed in reverse chronological order beginning with the most recent experience listed first. If you would like to enter an additional experience select Add Employment/Volunteer History Entry. If not select Next. How to apply for a job instructions updated 1/5/2015 8

9 15 15b 16. Enter three professional references by selecting Add Professional References Entry. This should not be friends or family or friends of the family. Only people you have worked for, volunteered for, or teachers/professors/mentors Complete the required fields then select Add Professional References Entry. 10 18. Answer any Supplemental Questions required for the position then select Next The Voluntary Self-Identification of Disablity section is optional. You are not required to complete this section. 12 21. Review your application for any errors or mistakes. If all of your information is correct select Certify and Submit. After you certify and submit your application changes cannot be made to the application for that position Read the Certification Statement and follow the instructions. 13 23. The Voluntary Demographic Data section is optional. You are not required to complete this section. If you wish to complete this section answer the following questions. If not, select Save changes You will receive a confirmation code that shows you have submitted your job application successfully. If you do not receive a code your application was not submitted. You can use this code to check the status of your application.
