Role Dimensions Reports to: Department: Job Family: Location: General Manager - Risk Risk Leadership New Plymouth Direct Reports: 2 Total Employees: 6 Financial Authority: Yes Position Band/Grade: K 23/24 Purpose of role The primary purpose of the role is to Lead and manage the effective delivery of an operational risk management framework. Through the delivery of this framework, achieve an organisation wide, integrated, effective and efficient management of operational, reputational and conduct risks facing TSB Bank. This is a tactically critical role at senior management level with broad scope and significant influence. You will ensure that all relevant areas of operational risk are identified, owned, monitored, measured and reported effectively and regularly. Furthermore, you will ensure that the appropriate management structures, processes, and policies are in place, consistent with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework of the Bank, to cost effectively manage these risks in terms of the Board risk appetite.

3 To assist the owners of risk areas to develop and maintain an effective risk control environment, with necessary systems and processes to manage and report operational risk and compliance. You will provide thought leadership, proactive support and advice to the Bank s General Manager Risk on all matters pertaining to operational, reputational and conduct risk; and contribute to the wider Risk team s strategy through constructive and proactive involvement in the development and implementation of its strategy, vision and initiatives. Role Specific Areas of Responsibility Effectively lead, coach, manage and develop the operational risk teams by ensuring that staff are selected and trained to a competent level; providing sound leadership, coaching and motivation; and ensuring direct reports provide their subordinate staff with the required level of leadership and coaching. Develop and successfully implement TSB Bank s operational risk management framework for approval by the Board of Directors within the risk appetite set by the Board Develop, maintain and implement TSB Bank s operational risk policies, metrics and documentation. Expand the Risk function through the development and implementation the Bank s Reputational and Conduct risk framework as part of the new and developing area of regulatory and industry focus Ensure that strategies, processes and policies are in place to identify, manage and/ or mitigate operational, reputational and conduct risk in terms of the risk appetite of the Board and monitor operational compliance with these policies. Ensure that all material operational, reputational and conduct risks being reported are owned and appropriately managed Together with the GM Risk continuously develop, enhance and embed the Enterprise Risk Management Framework to deliver effective risk management to the business and continue to educate the business in effective risk management practices to ensure that processes are fit for purpose Lead the organisation in building a competitive and strategic advantage in its awareness and management of enterprise wide operational, reputational and conduct risk matters. Act as AML Compliance Officer for the Bank. Generic Responsibilities Keep up to date with and comply with all Bank policy and procedures. Person Specification Qualifications Essential: Relevant Tertiary qualification at Bachelors level and Masters preferred. Relevant industry qualifications in Operational Risk, Systems Management or Process Management Preferred: Enterprise Risk Management Certification; Six Sigma/Lean or equivalent Agile methodologies or equivalent ACAMS certification or equivalent Experience Essential Information Management and Security Experience 10 years Financial Services Industry Experience with specific focus on payments and risk systems 5 years AML Experience 5 years management experience - with specific focus on operational risk obligations Preferred: Crisis Management experience Good understanding of regulatory, legislative and industry body compliance obligations that apply to a clearing and settlement bank Proven experience with the development of policy and process with an orientation of quality control processes

5 Solid understanding of system design, databases and business intelligence techniques including AI and other emerging technologies and tools Good understanding of reputational and conduct risk management programmes Organisational Competencies Change readiness Adapts to change positively and understands the rationale for change.
