On ucceful completion of the Mater degree tudent will automatically gain aociate level of CIPD profeional memberhip for one year. Thi challenging one-year programme aim to prepare propective human reource (HR) profeional to operate a effective practitioner who are able to comply with the highet profeional tandard and to continuouly develop their profeional capability. Thi involve equipping tudent with the kill and knowledge required to work effectively in changing and challenging environment and to develop in them the competencie required to think critically and trategically within an organiational context. Additionally, tudent will be provided with the neceary tool and focu to develop themelve, enuring that they can make a full contribution both a a buine partner and an effective manager. Thi will demontrate to future employer that our graduate have the kill and knowledge to take on enior HR poition. Programme Aim The programme i intended to: Develop the profeional knowledge, undertanding and kill in human reource management and it underpinning dicipline, to enable tudent to become effective practitioner. Develop the competence to be a buine partner who undertand the activitie, function and environment of the organiation/buinee in which tudent work and the ability to hape the HR agenda accordingly Think trategically and creatively about human reource iue in the wider buine and ocial context Develop effective HR and management kill Develop reflective kill to enable tudent to reflect on the impact of their performance and intervention and to manage their own profeional development Develop the ability and inclination to, through the dicipline of tudy at potgraduate level, think critically about human reource iue Develop the competence to be an ethical profeional who i able to reflect on the ethical implication of their action and encourage thi in other Develop pecialit knowledge in a elected apect of the HR dicipline. 3 Curriculum Student will follow a typical Mater programme, taught core module being delivered in 1 and 2 of an academic year and the diertation being undertaken in 2b. Core module will cover the generalit body of knowledge required to be an HR practitioner. Thi comprie: HRM in Context, outlining the etting in which HR operate, Leading Managing and Developing People, which cover the body of people management knowledge Employment Law, which explain the legal framework that HR practitioner operate within in the UK. Developing Skill for Buine Leaderhip, a kill development module, which will be portfolio baed and addre peronal, HR and general management kill. Employee Relation, Human Reource Development and Coaching and Leaderhip Development which relate to the generalit body of knowledge. Reearch Method, to preparation for a diertation. Diertation. Student will take one option module which allow them to develop pecialit inight into particular area of interet, it i likely, but not compulory, that thi pecialim will underpin the Diertation module which follow. The diertation mut addre an iue within the cognate dicipline of HRM and will allow tudent to explore in depth an HR iue in an organiational context. Student will be eligible for the award of Degree of Mater if they have uccefully completed at leat 180 credit and achieved the award learning outcome. Learning and Teaching Strategy Learning will be directed, upported and reinforced through a combination of lecture, taff-led mall group eion, virtual learning environment (or equivalent) activitie and guided private tudy. Seion may be delivered weekly or in block. Small group eion will ue practical application of cae and cae tudie with oral feedback given in the cla. Student will be directed to appropriate primary and econdary ource and be required to perform reearch and preentation exercie. The Employment Law module i a good example of thi where tudent are required to reearch legal iue and prepare an oral ubmiion of their finding at tutorial. All teaching will be upported by information upplied on the Univerity virtual learning environment. A a programme leading to profeional memberhip, peronal development planning i particularly important. The Developing Skill for Buine Leaderhip module focue on peronal and profeional kill aement and development, uing an e-portfolio, to upport thi. Skill workhop will be run that will allow tudent to identify kill gap and the prepare Peronal Development Plan to upport tudent in developing the required kill. All workhop will provide tudent with formative aement and feedback to upport them in their kill development. Learning trategie have been developed to be incluive of thoe with particular need, adopting mall group eminar and electronic upport mechanim. 5 Aement Strategy The programme i ummatively aeed by a mixture of examination, courework (group and individual) and preentation (group and individual). The final award of Mater will be gained by a ucceful completion of a bound diertation on an agreed topic, which evidence a critical expoition of primary data. Aement i integrated with learning and teaching to upport and demontrate achievement of the learning outcome for individual module and the complete programme. Emphai i placed on the feedback function of formative aement a part of the learning, teaching and aement trategy a a whole. The divere range of aement method are carefully deigned to enable the aement of the Programme Outcome. For example, the kill development workhop and e-portfolio in Developing Skill for Buine Leaderhip meet Programme outcome 4 and 5. The profeional knowledge, kill, trategic and buine partnering apect (Programme outcome 1-3) are aeed acro the majority of module. The independence of reearch and problem-olving, a required by Programme outcome 6, i alo demontrated in both taught module aement and either the diertation. Conideration of application will be baed on a combination of formal academic qualification and other relevant experience. The tandard entry requirement for the programme are a follow: A Firt degree; not necearily in a buine and management ubject; from an approved univerity, or an acceptable profeional qualification. Uual entry requirement i: UK degree minimum 2:2 (Honour); International degree gro percentile average (GPA) of 2.5 out of 4.0 or 6.5 out of 10, or overall average of 70 from 100% A the programme i delivered entirely in Englih, applicant mut be able to demontrate proficiency in the Englih language thu, UK educated tudent mut have a GCSE grade 4 (C) or above. Non-native peaker mut have a 6.5 core on IELTS tet of Englih, or 94 in the internet-baed TOEFL. Recognition of Prior Learning If applicant have prior certificated learning or profeional experience which may be equivalent to part of thi programme, the Univerity ha procedure to evaluate and recognie thi learning in order to provide applicant with exemption from pecified module or part of the programme. Student who are converting a PG Diploma to a Mater (Top-Up) are tudent with a PG Diploma in the cognate dicipline of HR from another intitution which ha been approved by the Univerity of Bradford and will be within a 5 year period. To achieve thi, tudent mut undertake a Reearch Method module and complete a diertation. The diertation mut addre an iue within the cognate dicipline of HRM and will allow tudent to explore in depth an HR iue in an organiational context.
