3 Administration notes Purpose To gain an overview of the employment law framework operating in Spain and compare this to the UK position. Timings and registration Please report to reception on arrival. Registration will be open from 9:00am. Please aim to arrive at the venue by 9:15am at the latest to complete registration. The seminar will begin at 9:30am and finish at approximately 4:30pm. Preparation Please complete the online pre-course questionnaire and return to us as soon as possible before the seminar commences. Lunch and refreshments Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, along with a buffet lunch. A vegetarian lunch option will be available but please let us know if you have any other special dietary requirements on your pre-course questionnaire. Smoking policy It is illegal to smoke anywhere within the venue premises. Access requirements and special facilities Delegates with any special requirements should contact Jade Wysocki on before the seminar. Dress code The dress code for this programme is smart/ casual. 4 Terms and conditions Payment Unless otherwise expressly agreed by Bond Solon, payment either by cheque, BACS or credit card must be received within 14 days from the date of invoice, or five days before the event to which this invoice relates, whichever is earlier. Please make cheques payable to Bond Solon. It is a condition of attendance that the event fee has been pre-paid. In the event of late payment we reserve our statutory right to interest at the rate of 8% above base under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act Cancellations, transfers, substitutions and refunds The above requests must all be made in writing. Cancellations The following charges apply if you cancel: 29+ days before an event = 20% of the event fee days before an event = 50% of the event fee 1-14 days before an event = 100% of the event fee Transfers Transfers made 15+ days prior to an event will be charged at 20% of the event fee Transfers made 1-14 days prior to an event will be charged at 50% of the event fee The transfer option only applies to delegates who are transferring to a different date for the same event Delegates must specify their choice of transfer date at the time of transfer The option to transfer can only be used once, after which non-attendance will be treated as a cancellation and all outstanding invoices will be due The original event invoice must be paid in full prior to a transfer invoice being issued If you would like to make a substitution, please call us on and we will be happy to help you. If you wish to travel to the hotel using the underground please visit this is the Transport for London website and is a valuable tool for planning your journey. Attached is a tube map that you may find useful along with a street map. By underground The nearest underground station is Holborn Station (Central and Piccadilly Line). Exit the station to the right hand side at the top of the escalators. Cross the road and walk up Southampton Row. The hotel is on the 2nd junction and is approximately a three minute walk from the station. By air The Heathrow Express runs direct to London Paddington in just 15 minutes (20 minutes from Terminal 5), with a train every quarter of an hour. The Gatwick Express runs a similar service into London Victoria. Light rail services (DLR) run regularly from London City Airport. By car We recommend using Google maps or a sat-nav to plan your individual journey, please use the postcode WC1B 4AR. The hotel does not have a car park attached to the building but roadside parking is available. There is parking available at Bloomsbury Square car park (WC1A 2RJ). 6 Speaker biographies Daniel Cifuentes Daniel provides advice to local and multinational companies in all areas of labour and social security law. He specialises in the execution and termination of agreements with senior executive managers, as well in contractual and remuneration issues and in labour issues arising in all types of commercial transactions. Daniel also provides advice in negotiation, drafting, interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements and has broad experience in collective dismissals, industrial conflicts and litigation before the labour courts in all kinds of proceedings. Daniel also provides advice on sport law to sportsmen in their contract negotiations and disputes, as well as to clubs, agents and sport associations. Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Daniel worked for 9 years in Uría Menéndez and led the employment practice in Bird & Bird and Olswang s Madrid offices. Further, Daniel is Professor of Law (employment law) at the Instituto de Empresa Business School. He is also a regular speaker in international seminars and webminars about Spanish employment law. Daniel is an active member of the Spanish Employment Lawyers Association (FORELAB) and of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA). He holds a joint degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad San Pablo CEU de Madrid. He has also did the Programme on Employment Relations at the Escuela de Práctica Jurídica de la Universidad Complutense and a Master on Sports Law from the Universidad San Pablo CEU de Madrid. Maria Eugenia De La Cera Maria Eugenia specialises in contentious and non-contentious employment matters with an emphasis on execution and termination of agreements with ordinary employees and senior executives, contractual and remuneration issues and employment matters relating to company mergers and acquisitions. She also has experience in collective dismissals and industrial conflicts, in disciplinary procedures and in conducting legal audits on employment related issues. Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Maria worked in Olswang, Bird & Bird and Uría Menéndez, where she also gained experience in competition and commercial litigation issues. Mª Eugenia is a professor of Labour and Social Security Law at IE University, where she lectures in English. She also participates regularly in seminars, webinars and conferences as an expert in employment law and publishes articles in specialised books, magazines and websites. Maria Eugenia holds a joint degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where she collaborated with the Employment and Social Security Department during her last year as a student. She has also coursed the Advanced Programme on Employment Relations at the IE Business School and the first year of the doctorate programme in Employment, Industrial Relations and Social Dialogue in Europe at the University of Castilla la Mancha.
