2 PEOPLE ENGAGEMENT MANAGER The People Engagement Manager will help establish, manage, and improve the people systems for Aileron. By operating and aligning with Aileron s core values, this position will be responsible for planning, directing, developing and maintaining visible systems and processes for expanding the talented and energizing community of employees and contributors engaged in advancing the organization, both locally and nationally. Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing the contributions of time and talent that will help meet the expectations of the financial sustainability model for the organization. SYSTEMS The People Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the following people systems. Capacity Planning: System to plan for and determine capacity needs. This will include looking at the future schedule and collaborating with respective managers to project future capacity needs of Employees, Business Advisors, Facilitators, Coaches, Board Members, etc. Sourcing: System to inspire, attract, and invite individuals to engage in helping achieve Aileron s vision and mission. This will include continually nurturing relationships to proactively identify potential matches for needs in the future. Hiring: System to allow like minded individuals to join Aileron and its community. This will be the process that allows Aileron to identify and quickly add capacity to the identified needs. Onboarding: System to allow individuals to contribute more efficiently and quickly to Aileron. This will be how we, quickly and efficiently, bring any type of contributor up to speed so they may feel connected to the Aileron processes. Developing: System to develop individuals that allows them to be more effective in their contributions to Aileron and its community. As a learning organization, this will be the method by which we continually allow all contributors to develop while being part of the Aileron community. RESPONSIBILITIES The role will also have responsibilities in the following systems/areas: Event Management: At times, this role may be required to help deliver some of Aileron s services. Customer Service: This role may also assist internal and external customers achieve their desired results. This could be done by registering a client for a service, reserving a room for a client, answering the main phone line, etc. Culture: This role will also work within the culture and values of Aileron.

Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Reading Comprehension Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Social Perceptiveness Being aware of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Writing Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. ABILITIES Oral Comprehension The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Oral Expression The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Written Comprehension The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Written Expression The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand. Speech Clarity The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you. WORK ACTIVITIES Communicating with Persons Outside Organization Representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, by telephone, or e- mail. Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, , or in person. Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time. Thinking Creatively Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions. Getting Information Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.

Minimum of ten (10) years of experience and proven results in contributor relations, volunteer management, marketing, or business development fields. Previous experience with business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Proven track record in development/fundraising, community building, and public relations. Experience with all aspects of grant writing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.
