This unit will introduce you to the concept of having rights at work and what your responsibilities are as an employee. You will explore employee rights, for example how to be safe at work, how to be healthy at work, having fair pay and being treated fairly. You will also consider the importance of respecting others in the workplace. Practical examples such as appropriate use of language and respecting people s cultures and beliefs will also be discussed. This unit will go on to explore the responsibilities you have when employed or participating in work experience. Learning will focus around your responsibility to arrive on time, dress appropriately and complete tasks efficiently and effectively within agreed timelines. It is vitally important to know who to go to support if difficulties arise at work. You will be asked to research different sources of support available. 1. In your ideal job you will have certain rights in the workplace. List 4 statutory rights for employees, the first one has been done for you. (1.1) 1.
