1 The Development Review Process A three-step approach using KSF & Personal Development Plans On the following pages are forms for use during the development review process. Some of these forms are mandatory as they relate to the use of the NHS KSF in pay progression. Others have been produced as a guide and are recommended as good practice. The Development Review Policy and Reviewers guide should be read before completing the paperwork so that roles and responsibilities within the Development Review Process are fully understood. The completed forms must be kept in the personal file for that individual member of staff and a copy retained by the staff member. These files will be subject to normal Data Protection legislation. Overview of the three steps within the Development Review meeting Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 KSF Review How am I doing? Review of KSF outline for the post and evaluation of applied learning and development. Review of the evidence presented with an overview of any previous evaluations and exploring opportunities. Appraisal What have I achieved? What aspects of the role could be developed? What is expected of me? Reviewing objectives that were previously set, how well they have been met and agreeing objectives for the next period. Personal Development Plan What do I need? What does the department need?
