6 Implementation Guide Supervisor Tips: A lead CES II can assist with training Establish goal for program training so that staff can budget their time Item 8 Discuss appropriate dress for various activities Examples Clothing should be neat clean, in good repair, and appropriate for the clientele activity. Excessively tight clothing may restrict movement and be unprofessionally revealing; clothing should not expose undergarments (excessively short skirts or shorts and low rise pants risky when one sits, midriffs, backless shirts, plunging necklines or transparent shirts can also be a professional and safety risk. Shoes: As educators we load materials, equipment, do food prep work working with knives and hot foods. We are on our feet for the majority of the day. For overall safety, closed toe, closed heel shoes are the best protection. High heels and flip flops increase the risk of falls. Open toed shoes, sandals and flip flops do not protect the feet they can catch on gas/brake pedals, stairs, and leave feet vulnerable to heavy and/or sharp falling objects. Community meetings: Professional casual dress (slacks, top non jeans). Dresses, skirts with a top. Teaching classes: Dress appropriately for physical activity. Educators are often bending, kneeling, etc. Bring and wear your apron to protect your clothes, don t forget your name tag/id. Garden activities: wear neat, clean, clothing (jeans that are not tight or torn may be appropriate). Closed toed shoes or sneakers to protect the feet. If you will be in direct sun, don t forget sun screen and a hat. 21 Voic message Include: Full name Job title UC Cooperative Extension County Nutrition Education Program If you need immediate assistance, please call. 31 Food Safety Training Initial training can be MISKIS or ServSafe Food Handler Card.
