2 The content of this service has been independently accredited by RoSPA. As a PSE member you are entitled to complementary access to our National Sanitation Qualification (NSQ) Scheme, delivered by our online training partner Human Focus. This web-based compliance service for Health & Safety provides PSE members, of any size, the practical tools needed to improve Health & Safety risk management and cut costs. These dual benefits of cost reduction and business improvement are partly achieved via the use of latest web technologies. Costly administrative processes are automated; training is delivered on demand; and easy to use risk management tools can be accessed, for example, via mobile phones or other portable devices. And so, the central component of the PSE NSQ Scheme is a pre-designed, 4 tier qualifications scheme with the Foundation Level offered FREE as part of your PSE membership! 3 An online service that helps you to comply, with minimal disruption. How it works. Each organisation is assigned their own highly secure, online, password protected account. The web-application provides both an elearning (training) system along with risk management tools for completing tasks such as risk assessments. This is a flexible service that can be moulded to suit the needs of any organisation - whatever the size or activity. Larger employers may want to selectively use training courses to fill gaps in existing arrangements. Conversely, smaller organisations may wish to use all aspects to build from scratch a risk management system. However the system is used, trained operatives are on-hand to help you set-up and run the account. Health and safety specialists are also available via this helpline to answer specific questions or concerns.

4 Powerful risk management module makes risk assessments and other compliance tasks easy to complete. Risk Management. The PSE NSQ system provides a powerful risk management module that assists with the completion of tasks such as risk assessments. For example, a suite of online risk assessment templates cover a wide range of hazard areas and makes the maintenance of necessary records straightforward. These online forms can also be accessed via any web-enabled phone or PDA device to support workplace based assessments. However, as with all aspects of health & safety, risk assessments are only as good as the skills of the person completing them. And so, a suite of online training programmes provide risk assessment training. These sessions adopt a practical how-to approach with many case study examples. The risk assessment process is often derided. However, via the PSE NSQ system, users are given both the understanding and the tools to help them get the job done quickly and effectively.

5 Significant benefits with video-based learning. Visual Learning. Significantly reduced training delivery costs. It takes even a fluent reader significantly longer to complete a text and still picture elearning course as compared with a video course with identical content. Let s assume a modest 10 minutes additional time for each module. It does not sound a lot until you multiply it by the number of staff and modules being taken. The additional staff training time can easily run into hundreds or thousands of additional staff hours which costs far more than any fees paid for the courses themselves. This a huge hidden additional delivery cost that must be considered when purchasing any elearning system. More effective learning. The average reading age in the UK workforce is 13 years and that s the average. Even for fluent readers, the written word is not their preferred learning medium. Video makes courses universally accessible and improves learning standards.

7 RoSPA accredited training providing nationally recognised Health & Safety qualifications. Accredited. All PSE NSQ training courses are independently accredited by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This means that RoSPA have checked and assured the technical content of the courses and that trainees receive a nationally recognised training award. When trainees complete each training course they receive a RoSPA accredited certificate. The system enables trainees to build a training portfolio that will be widely recognised. Independent accreditation by RoSPA is very rare and very few elearning systems have such accreditation. None have the range of courses on offer through Human Focus.

8 Automated recordkeeping makes compliance straight forward. Powerful Admin. The central objective of the NSQ scheme is to assist your organisation to comply with legislation quickly and effectively. The Human Focus system has a powerful administration module that makes it easy to: Set up organisational groups or areas for your employees Store and analyse all training certificates and records; not just those created via the Human Focus elearning system. Track compliance. E.g. monitoring which courses have expired (not just Human Focus courses) and which employees have not taken required training. Administrate employee turnover and movement. Create management reports.
