Conduct campus/patrol induction. Adhere to work schedule as given by supervisor. Carry out site instructions and emergency plans. Reporting for duty as per schedule. Conduct and ensuring that the electronic patrol system is conducted as required. Respond to all emergency incidents if and when required. Report all incidents to the control room timeously. Record all incidents in the occurrence book. Ensure that equipment and stock issued are kept on site are handled and stored in a manner, which prevents damage, deterioration and loss. Ensure proper uniform issued is worn when on shift Liaise with supervisor on security issues. Perform patrols regularly, accurately and diligently. Random vehicle and identification card checks to be performed. Responding to alarms (fire, panic, burglar alarms) and any other emergency alarms activated. Assist with traffic control after hours and when requested. Electronic capturing of incidents Team Leading Honest, reliable and efficient application of UCT s policies and procedures pertaining to administrative tasks. Own area is safely secured. Allocated posts are covered. Security risk is managed in the appropriate manner. Access is controlled and restricted to authorized people. Equipment servicing up to date. To ensure that no UCT property leave campus unauthorized. All incidents accurately recorded. Visibility in areas allocated during shift All incidents reported. All alarms activated are responded to. Ensure that all incidents are recorded on incident management system Ensure that all grade D officers allocated to your section comply to their prescribed job description. 13 October 2015 Page 2 of 5 HR191

3 2 Monitoring and report 25% Ensure that efficient/smooth day to day operation is conducted at specific areas allocated. Involves performing specified duties of co-workers or subordinate(s) to maintain continuity of normal operations. Protect and secure UCT properties, assets and students/staff. Administer and record all UCT equipment and assets within the allocated area. Ensure pocket books are completed accurately and timeously. Complete and keep record, in writing of all incidents during own shift. Report on all traffic incidences, maintenance issues and Health & Safety matters and noncompliance. Continuity and professionalism in terms of security. University community s complaints are attended to with the utmost of urgency. Or during any emergency. Visibility in allocated area. A safe environment for the UCT community. A track record of UCT assets and equipment is available. Records of incidents available in pocket books. 3 Events and conferences on Campus and 5% Assist with security patrol during special events. Provide a record of incidents during special events. Assist in ensuring proper record keeping of all events on Campus. Ensure that all security matters in emergency situations are attended to. Smooth running of events.
