Lead on successful account management of current clients, setting up appropriate communications and reporting structures to suit their needs and develop successful partnerships. Identify opportunities and lead on bid and tender writing for the development of commercial and grant income, including local and national government funding options in order to achieve financial targets. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the University from academic and professional services teams, advising and supporting as required.

2 Key Tasks Business ngagement and Account Management Initiate and develop relationships with new businesses and public sector organisations to meet university degree apprenticeship recruitment targets. Work collaboratively with both professional service and curriculum teams in order to deliver positive customer service and communications. To be an ambassador for the University and the Apprenticeship Unit, promoting the University's expertise and capability to engage with stakeholder and other external organisations Lead on successful account management of current clients, setting up appropriate communications and governance structures to suit their needs and develop successful partnerships. Project Management and Oversight Project manage and support delivery of specific projects by as agreed with the Director of Apprenticeships, ensuring all projects are aligned with the University Degree Apprenticeship Strategy. Develop and implement an action plan for relevant apprenticeship projects in order to improve and increase apprenticeship capacity. Identify opportunities and lead on bid and tender writing for the development of commercial and grant income, including local and national government funding options in order to achieve financial targets. Provide guidance and support for marketing and market research in support of Faculty and Apprenticeship Unit activities. Staff support and development Participate in the recruitment, induction, development and appraisal of new colleagues. Advise academic and other colleagues, keeping them appraised of apprenticeship strategy, funding opportunities, policies and processes, encouraging an entrepreneurial and customer focused culture across the University. Support and guide academic staff in the development of funding applications and commercial opportunities in conjunction with the Apprenticeship Unit. Assist the Director of Apprenticeships in the delivery of degree apprenticeship focused staff development to increase capability and performance within the team and across the University. Degree Apprenticeship Leadership Provide leadership for innovation and development amongst staff, supporting an entrepreneurial and customer focused culture. Lead and manage relevant mployer Advisory Boards, establishing systems with academic and other teams for responding to employers' and apprentices feedback.

3 Lead on new and developing programmes across the University, applying knowledge of relevant sectors to develop new propositions which generate profitable business, supporting curriculum development and advising academic teams on apprenticeship policy and procedure, quality regimes etc. Contribute to the leadership and achievement of the University Strategy for degree apprenticeships, working with the Director of Apprenticeships and team, sharing opportunities, information and best practice. Information gathering, analysis and reporting Collaborate with Apprenticeship Systems & Process staff to ensure that we are maximising the reporting of degree apprenticeship performance against targets by ensuring that data is accurate in the management information systems including: Sales Force, PICs and other IT systems. Produce or contribute to regular reports for the Director of Apprenticeships and Apprenticeship Strategic Steering Group and Management Groups as required. Work with marketing colleagues to ensure the apprenticeship publicity and webpages are accurate, client friendly, engaging and reflect the University's portfolio in order to support growth of activity and income. Review the success of current degree apprenticeship programmes in order to improve quality and best practice. Special Features Prepared to travel or work hours outside the normal working hours in order to fulfil the requirements of the role. Miscellaneous You have a legal duty, so far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure that you do not endanger yourself or anyone else by your acts or omissions. In addition, you must cooperate with the University on health and safety matters and must not interfere or misuse anything provided for health, safety and welfare purposes. You are responsible for applying the University s qual Opportunities Policy in your own area of responsibility and in your general conduct. You have a responsibility to promote high levels of customer care within your own areas of work. You are expected to co-operate with the PDR process, engaging in the setting of objectives in order to assist in the monitoring of performance and the development of the individual. Such other relevant duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may be assigned by the Manager in agreement with you. Such agreement should not be unreasonably withheld. You may be required to undertake a specific Health & Safety role, commensurate with your grade, to support the University in meeting its statutory Health & Safety obligations. This could include acting as a DS Assessor, First Aider, Fire Marshall or Departmental Safety Co-ordinator. The

4 allocation of such roles will be subject to the provision of appropriate training and assessment of competence. You may, with reasonable notice, be required to work at any of the Manchester Metropolitan University sites. Ability to carry out compelling presentations and to influence academic colleagues to engage in degree apprenticeship activities. 1.4 xcellent administrative skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications and use of CRM. 1.5 Ability to develop positive, productive partnerships with employers, external and internal stakeholders 2 General & Specialist Knowledge Up to date knowledge of National and regional policies and strategies that relate to degree apprenticeships Knowledge of business sectors involved. Knowledge of government funding schemes for degree apprenticeships 3 ducation & Training ducated to degree level or equivalent. Postgraduate degree or equivalent

6 4.1 Successful business development and client management including selling, negotiation, bid writing, costing and pricing, tendering and securing external income. 4 Relevant xperience Delivery and management of externally funded contracts, the maintenance of audit trails, developing working plans and mobilising teams to deliver project outcomes.
