1 Multi Industry Schl Based Supprt Pilt Prject Grant Backgrund The Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject is supprted by the Australian Gvernment Department f Educatin and Training. AEN has been successful in securing the Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject t help business by supprting jb specific training fr new and yung emplyees and help cmmunity rganisatins help yung peple return t schl, start vcatinal training r mve int wrk. The bjectives and utcmes f the pilt include: prvide businesses with greater access t apprpriately skilled wrkers; and imprve jb prspects fr yung peple. trial a new mdel f prviding incentives fr emplyers t take n new wrkers; trial a new emplyer-led training mdel that prvides jb-specific training; and trial a new mdel t create pathways fr unemplyed yung peple int lng term wrk. In annuncing the Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject, Senatr the Hn Sctt Ryan said: This pilt prject will prvide yung peple the pprtunity t test ut an Australian Apprenticeship and give them hands-n experience acrss a range f industries. Emplyers have repeatedly identified the need fr mre wrk-ready apprentices t facilitate apprentice recruitment and imprve retentin rates. 2 Multi Industry Schl Based Supprt Pilt Prject Prject Delivery The Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject is a 2-year pilt t prvide yung Australians in bth metrplitan and reginal areas with real vcatinal experience in the building and cnstructin, engineering and autmtive, land and fd, and business and services industries thrugh a series f shrt-term wrk experience placements. The pilt will be rlled ut in Victria, NSW and Tasmania. In delivering the Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject the Apprenticeship Emplyment Netwrk (AEN) aims t prvide yung peple, bth thse in schl and schl leavers nt in fulltime wrk r study, with an pprtunity t have a hands n trial f a range f vcatinal ccupatins ver a 6 t 12-mnth perid. Over the 2-year pilt the Prject will target 1000 secndary students that might be pursuing a vcatinal pathway in the future as well as 1000 unemplyed r under emplyed yuth 15 t 24 year lds wh have already left schl. The Prject will prvide hst and direct emplyers, mainly small businesses, with the pprtunity t find ptential candidates fr an apprenticeship that best suit the needs f the business. Unemplyed/under emplyed yuth (nt participating in full-time study r wrk). Prmtin GTOs t wrk with educatin and wrk placement stakehlders. GTOs may brand and prmte their prgrams fr the lcal cmmunity. Prmtin must reference an initiative under the Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject and The Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject is supprted by the Australian Gvernment Department f Educatin and Training. GTO Reprting Reprt individual participants, their details (including USI) and prgram status t AEN. Reprt t AEN Careers sessins prmting and/r incrprated in the Multi Industry Schl-based and Pre-Apprenticeship Supprt Pilt Prject. Cntribute t and cnduct participant survey s and prcure gd news stries. Identify and reprt barriers t successful utcmes. Wrking with Children requirements GTOs must ensure any individual that perfrms any part f the prject des nt cme int cntact with Children unless that individual is cmpliant with any relevant State and Territry law relating t wrking with children and vulnerable peple. 5 Multi Industry Schl Based Supprt Pilt Prject Funding GTOs will be paid by AEN the fllwing amunts fr milestnes reached f each participant at the payment AEN quarterly payment milestne (TBA).
