1 Job Description Job Title: Department: Location: Reports to: Shipper/Material Handler Shipping/Rod Yard (74) Insteel Wire Products, Jacksonville, FL Shipping/QA Manager SUMMARY Performs plant-wide shipping and receiving tasks while complying with industry standards and customer requirements. Also performs additional inventory duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws. Other duties may be assigned. SHIPPING Skill Set A Meet all Safety Training Requirements Understand and follow all PPE requirements Practices good housekeeping Forklift trained, qualified and licensed. Completes daily forklift inspections. Knows and practices proper loading, unloading and storage of all material Knows correct storage methods for Finished Goods to prevent damage Understands proper loading for weight distribution and safe over the road travel Skill Set B Knows Insteel s expectations related to Quality Standards Familiar with and understands all requirements of ASTM 1064 Understands procedures and completes sub-inventory transfers. Finished goods from inside to outside and rod from outside to inside) No incidents related to Loading/Unloading/Storage for 120 days. Skill Set C Familiar with Oracle Systems so that operator may: Generate pick slips Run ship confirms Run Bill of Ladings Skill Set D Participates in scheduled cycle counts Participates in scheduled physical inventories Rod Sizes, grades and vendors are recognized for variances. Skill Set E Intercompany transfers completed w/o error Actively assists in maintaining Scheduled Plant Utilization of 80% or greater for a rolling 90 days Page 1 of 5

2 RECEIVER Skill Set A Meet all Safety Training Requirements Know and wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) properly Know location of all emergency stops Housekeeping Read a Micrometer Read a Tape Measure Insteel Quality Overview and checks Butt Welding Understand a Wiredrawing Build Sheet Product Terminology Obtain a forklift license Skill Set B Ability to move carriers using overhead cranes (all overhead cranes) Knowledge of wire sizes Perform a forklift inspection and complete inspection card daily Move and store rod from outside to inside Knowledge of rod sizes and rod vendors Load boom flippers Remove and band rod from boom flippers Performs visual inspection on rod for handling damage prior to storage Skill Set C Transfer material from stock location Run location inventory reports and match to actual count Receive rod in Oracle accurately Rotate rod. Make sure older rod is used 1 st. Remove drawn wire and store wire in proper location Weigh scale operation Complete worksheet for oncoming shift Cycle count accurately Skill Set D Scheduled Shift Utilization of 80% or greater for a rolling 90 days. Intercompany transfers completed without error. Skill Set E Computer knowledge of Oracle System: Transfer material from stock location Run location inventory reports and match to actual count Receive rod in Oracle accurately Rotate rod. Make sure older rod is used 1 st. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 3 EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE The education requirements and experience requirement listed here indicate the minimum basic educational knowledge and minimum previous work-related experience required by the job duties of the position. Education: High School diploma or equivalent; ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Ability to perform simple arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals. Experience: A minimum of 6 months work-related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Fork Lift Certification INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY Requires the use of judgment, to use acquired job knowledge to comply with the instructions and standard procedures, methods or practices involving the making of minor decisions.
