For over 30 years, MEI has been designing, installing and maintaining equipment primarily in the South, as well as Nationally and Internationally. 6 We install all our own equipment, unlike most national firms. Our crews have been together for a long time. They understand our engineering approach, which makes bringing your equipment on-line reliable and quick. Because we are primarily regional, we give our employees the advantage of less travel, which means lower turnover and more experienced staff on your installation. Your staff is trained and has a relationship for maintenance. Our staff builds a relationship with your engineering and maintenance staff so that a smooth hand-off takes place and there is a clear level of support available. Our prime focus is markets we can readily service. This allows us to assure you, our customer, that we will provide on-going service, prevention maintenance contracts and safety inspections on a regular basis. Your savings in bulk material handling come over time. We want to be available to assure those savings.

10 Founding Principals In 1974, George Weissenberger founded MEI to provide installation and system preventative maintenance service to companies using bulk storage and pneumatic conveying in a variety of industries. The result George saw was that many of his customers were experiencing a high level of system failure that stemmed from systems not designed to be maintained. Joined by his son Mark, a mechanical engineer, they began developing systems engineered for life. We design systems engineered for life Range of Products Today Modern Equipment Incorporated (MEI) is a major participant in the material handling industry. Our systems have the highest non-failure rate in the industry. The company designs and installs pneumatic conveying, bulk storage, and batching control systems for the textile, plastic and baking industries, as well as others. Many of our projects include system retrofits, upgrades, and interfaces with material handling equipment, regardless of original supplier or manufacturer.

11 Range of Services MEI provides preventative maintenance programs, safety inspections and 24-hour emergency service to our clients. Our local service crews are regularly dispersed between Eastern Alabama and Southern Virginia, as well as periodic site visits throughout the Midwest, Texas and Mexico. We have designed systems for installation or designed and installed equipment at locations in China, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada and throughout the United States. National & International Systems Provider MEI also supplies equipment and installs projects nationally and internationally. We deliver the same commitment to product for life that we do on the systems we design, install and service in the Southeast. We will work directly with your engineering, maintenance groups and local or regional third party installation providers to assure long term support.
