Significant changes and investments made Weekly service from New Zealand to Fiji (Capitaine Cook & Capitaine Wallis) Fortnightly service from New Zealand to Samoa s and Tonga (Southern Lily) Interisland (ex Fiji t Samoa s & Tonga) served by Auspac vessels Capitaine Tasman and Forum Pacific fortnightly service. Bunker Surcharge recently review and reduced As predicted last year rates have increased to Fiji further review expected. Some operators not increased rates desperate for revenue. Increasing number of Fiji Consignees failing to return equipment within free time frame Adds considerable cost Delays supply of equipment for export units Container bonds introduced to discourage retention.

Further development of transhipment services (origins changing) Get the ports right - develop hub services Further rationalisation amongst the shipping lines cost reduction Export opportunities for island communities (EG increase in produce, beverages, coconut cream etc) from Samoa s and Tonga to NZ and Australian markets) and not for getting the Sugar Industry in Fiji.
