3 Objectives Setup the Activant Prophet 21 system for Assemblies and Kits Use the Assembly Maintenance window Enter Assembly/Kit order entry on the fly

5 What is an Assembly? An item that is built from other components KIT Assembly Does NOT have to be put together by your personnel Header item cannot track bins, lots or serial numbers Must not be marked as Buyable in item maintenance Assembly Needs to be built/assembled by your personnel Will go through the production order process

8 Questions Do you have items that you will need to create as Assemblies? Do you have items that you will need to create as Kits?

9 System Settings Defaults These settings determine how options in Assembly Maintenance will default

10 Creating an Assembly or Kit Header Item and Components must be created in Item Maintenance BEFORE the assembly item can be created.

11 Creating an Assembly or Kit Both are created on the Orders Band > Production orders > Maintenance > Assembly Maintenance

34 Print Incomplete Assembly on PO Form ON: Production Order prints as long as any of the components of a particular item is partially allocated to that assembly OFF: Production Order prints as long as there are enough components available to create one assembly

38 Allow Disassembly ON: Components on an assembly can be returned to stock without having to perform Inventory Adjustments OFF: Components on assemblies that are returned to stock have to be returned via Inventory Adjustments

57 On the Fly Assemblies/Kits Created during Order Entry and Production Order Entry User must have permissions Once added on the fly, user is taken to Assembly Maintenance Options are defaulted from the System Settings but can be changed Must complete the Assembly Defaults tab

79 Costing Assemblies Components costs are rolled up to come up with the Assembly Cost

80 Rollup Assembly Costs Sums component costs on assemblies View actual sum instead of the current MAC or FIFO on the header item Particularly useful for on-the-fly assemblies Kits sum component cost regardless of this setting Use Standard Cost = Y Rollup Cost setting has no impact, standard cost always used

81 Rollup Assembly Prices Overrides assembly pricing option If an assembly is set to price by assembly, item will always be priced by component Does not impact assemblies priced off of contract
