Ad used i cojuctio with rail-guided stacker craes, the ew DCS eables users to achieve really compact, multi-deep pallet storage. To do this, the storage laes are fitted with rails o which the shuttles ca ru. Shuttle ad rail-guided stacker crae therefore form oe logistical uit: the shuttle rus o the rails to the allotted storage positio where it either sets dow or picks up a pallet, ad the rail-guided stacker crae trasports the shuttle to the correct storage or retrieval poit i the warehouse. Fully charged withi a miimum of 8 secods: eergy stored i power caps Uique amog pallet shuttles: istead of covetioal batteries, the DCS draws its eergy from high-performace capacitors. The power caps are recharged while the shuttle is beig trasported by the rail-guided stacker crae. Ad chargig takes at least 8 secods! That meas uiterrupted 24/7 operatio o dowtimes while the batteries are beig recharged or replaced. The DCS is therefore equipped with especially powerful 400 V three-phase motors with a high power desity ad compact desig. These motors hadle both the travellig ad the raisig/lowerig movemets. A robust frequecy coverter cotrols the motors. As with a four-wheel drive vehicle, all the wheels are drive directly ad with the DCS that meas ot four, but eight wheels. They esure reliable tractio eve whe the ruig surface is ot perfectly level, e.g. whe trasferrig to the rail-guided stacker crae.
