Challenges & Processes in CEE Air Freight processes to/ from CEE FCL processes to/ from CEE LCL processes to/ from CEE 13 Air Freight Processes in CEEC 14 7

Air Freight Processes & Challenges Most of the cargo ex CEE always departs from one of the European main cargo airports: AMS/ FRA/ LUX/ CDG/ LON/ ZRH) and include a long trucking process Ex/ Importers have 3 options : Booking directly ex/to local airport (VIE/ BUD/ PRG/ BUH/ VIE etc) Booking Air Freight ex/ to VIE on forwarding to CEE ex VIE Booking Air Freight ex/ to FRA/ AMS on forwarding by forwarder Challenges for Air Freight from/ into in CEE: Flexibility: by possibility to choose airline/ Port of Departure Service from one hand Space & Transit time: in peak season lack of space to LATAM 15 A typical process for Air Freight via our Frankfurt HUB PICKUP AT FACTORY GW WAREHOUSE DEPARTURE FRA GRU/ VCP/ POA/ RIO/ BHZ/ VIX/ JOI/ CWB/ SCL/ BUE/ LIM/ BOG etc. CUSTOMS DELIVERY ULD ( Air Freight PALETT) IS BUILT AIRPORT BREAKDOWN ULD;SPLITTING TO PALLETS Track + Tracing: world.com/en/global_systems.aspx 16 8

Sea Freight FCL processes within CEE Fußzeile // footer 17 Challenges FCL in CEE Challenges for Sea Freight FCL ex/ into CEE Inland process &costs: trucking vs. railway -> quite often more expensive than Sea Freight decision northern port or Mediterranean port container availability close to shipper container pick up/ empty return Difficulties when using FOB clauses The Cheapest carrier for ocean freight -> decided d by consignee If this carrier has no container close, the shipper has to pay for pickup of container at the closest harbor/ depot. result: with FOB terms quite often not the cheapest all-in solution 18 9

Pro & Contras for Northern and Adriatic ports Transit time Costs Avail- ability Reliability Best solution for your transport decision 19 Sea Freight transit time between CEE - LATAM TRANSIT TIMES for FCL shipments (some examples) to Santos to Valparaiso to Veracruz from Hamburg from Koper from Constanta t from Odessa

Challenges for transports to LATAM using the example BRASIL 23 Challenges for transports to LATAM e.g. BRAZIL We want to point out some specialities in Brasil as an example for LATAM: complex Import und Exportlicenses Transport & Customs separated quite often; no DDP allowed High local charges: storage (0,35% - 1,5% CIF Wert); High Costs for customs cleariance and storage NCM code instead of the internationalen HS code (quite similar) High Import duties - 5 different duties I.I. / I.P.I / PIS / COFINS / ICMS different tariffs for the indiv. states t (e.g. cheaper in Vitoria/ i Itajai) Imported finished products quite often are taxed higher 24 12

Customs Brokerage in BRAZIL (SIScarga) Brazil has one of the most modern customs brokerage systems. This is an automatic computer-based process it stops under the following circumstances Problem 1: missing licence Problem 2: too late data entry into SIScarga Problem 3: documentation mistake - E.g. MAWB & HAWB are different (weight, rate, date) - CNPJ #, HCM, rate (no as agreed!!!), description of goods is missing - Original signatures are missing, commercial invoice is in german, Rate ( as agreed ) If one occurs the process stops & and the problems start! 25 Customs Brokerage in BRAZIL (SIScarga) AUTOMATIC PROCESS IS STOPPED! OPTION 1: normal procedure takes days - Corrections at documentation have to be declared - Cargo will be released after ~20 days - add. Storage costs -> up to 2,25% of CIF value OPTION 2: speed up the process by paying Emergency Fee (~950 USD/ HAWB) Cargo released earlier and the storage costs will be cheaper (0,75% of CIF value up to 10 days) Worst case: cargo is confiscated 26 13

Example for Import duties in Brasil compared to other countries Example: HS code = packaging machinery Value EUR(CIF incl. freight costs) customs brokerage not incl. country Description of import duties Total in % Total in EUR BR I.I & I.P.I. & ICMS & PIS & COFINS & AFRMM 57 % RU 0 % duty + 18 % VAT 18 % IN Basic + CVD +SCVD+ Educational Cess 27 % CN 10 % duty plus 17 % VAT 29 % ZA 0 % duty; 14 % VAT (on raised value) 15 % Structure of Presentation Introduction of Workshop Short introduction of GW Challenges & Processes in CEE Challenges & Processes in LATAM Hints & Tricks Case studies 28 14
