Admnistrative + Logistic Information Simplification of administrative burdens is key to efficient trade facilitation, but without being linked to efficiencies in the operational aspects of the movement of goods then no improvements in the supply chain can be made.

Data Pipeline Concept Cassandra Project The information pipeline replaces the different sets of information held in the different types of documents, both commercial data and container tracking data. All partners in the supply chain feed their transaction related data in this pipeline. This data then comes available to other partners in the chain and to related government authorities, where it can be used in valuable risk assessments. Pre Clearance processes can be achieved accepting government procedures at the origin (*)Cassandra Project FP-7 Source

Challenges of Single Window Implementations 1. Not Reinvent the Wheel. a. Do not create another Standard. b. Talk with the industry c. Bottom Up Approach. Act locally but resolve globaly 2. Pull the Information from the source. Query API vs Push Message Shipping PCS Authority Harbour Master Shipping PCS Authority NSW Harbour Master 3. Interconnectivity

Interconnectivity Sharing Information among s through common query interfaces (API) over internet (HTTPP) are currently being developed. Based on agreed authentication mechanisms, the information is pulled from the source and not copied or pushed. Track & Trace. IPCSA Initiative IPCSA PCS Vessel Schedule Information Vessel and ISPS Information Container Events NEAL NEAT Framework. 11 Final Remarks 1. We have enough technology and more is emerging every day (Big Data, IoT, AI, Cloud) but we really need to apply into Business Process 2. Need to review our legal frameworks at local, national and global level to take profit of the technology and use it. Trade goes beyond our port and nations. 3. Measure the real business impact of the changes in front of the benefits and propose feasible plans acceptable by the sector. Bearing in mind operational singularities of the ports & current state of processes and technologies ( Bottom Up). Techonology enables Business Business drives Processes Legal Framework Processes drive Technology

The Community System + Single Window Extend Single Window The PCS concept is usually implemented with a commitment to facilitate the re-use of data from a single submission reusing existing systems, provide value-added use of information, develop infrastructure and interconnectivity as well as horizontal activities in areas of technical assistance, process reengineering, consultancy, customization projects, customer service and user training.
