2 Page 2 3 A WELL-OILED TEAM WITH LONGSTANDING EXPERIENCE ULF-Tec was set up in 2001 by Frank Stamm with his longstanding experience as a service specialist at high-profile packaging machine manufacturers. From the onset, the new company focused on customised applications for developing, maintaining and servicing packaging machines and systems including all of the peripheral devices. Its range of services also encompasses tailor-made en hancements and modifications on the design of machines and systems according to customers specific needs. Today, ULF-Tec also builds machines to order or designs them from the ground up. Kai Stamm entered the company in 2003 when burgeoning growth necessitated moving into new buildings in November 2006 to provide the increasing number of employees with the right en vironment to meet rising demands. Our ULF-Tec Team combines mechanical engineering with pack aging technology ex perience. Our 15 workers, including engineers, skilled staff and sales experts, give our customers exactly the right solution to their special problem. We also mediate used machines for you at your request, give them a general overhaul and add whatever s necessary such as: new closing heads (even on older machines) that were previously equipped with separate closing machines, metal detectors for small packages and 25 or 50 kg drums, sampling machines. ULF-Tec supplies you with completely new packaging units devel oped and produced according to your precise specifications. We build packaging machines and systems for prefabricated bags (such as block-bottom or pointed bottom bags) for a maximum out put of 100 bags/minute. 8 Page 8 9 ULF-TEC UM-FLEX Flexible Add-On System for Stand-Up Bag Packages Field of application The ULF-Tec UM-Flex may be used for a large variety of tasks: it is used for providing stand-up bags with reclosures, folding the bag top side after closing or applying additional labels. The UM-Flex is provided with rolls and may be used in combination with different bagging machines. Alternatively, the UM-Flex may be designed with an integrated tubular bag machine so that a compact line with maximum flexibility is available. Basic construction The UM-Flex rests upon a torsion-free basic frame, holding the drive for the bag transport system and the control. The transport system may be set to different bag widths without much effort and no need of tools and form sets. The drive is realized by means of a servo motor so that the movement of the transport system may be adapted to your products in an optimal way. Depending on your requirements the system may be equipped with different processing stations: starting with simple folding of the top sealed seam with and without fixation over the application of tin ties to the application of additional labels as special marking and/or use as reclosures. Optionally the UM-Flex may be realized as an integrated system in a vertical tubular bag machine. Here the tubular bag machine UM-V-2300 will be integrated into the basic frame so that the bags will be automatically transferred to the transport system after filling and sealing. Operation The UM-Flex is operated by means of a 12 touch panel which is swivel-mounted so that the operators are able to control the machine at any time. The access is staggered by password-protected levels so that critical areas are protected. The machine functions may be called and set individually by simple menu navigation to adapt the UM-Flex to the respective requirements of your products and packing materials. If it is not possible to find the correct setting on site, you may use the remote maintenance module with many functions. But the control does not only offer the access to machine functions, but also the possibility to evaluate production data. 14 Page ULF-TEC SCREW FEEDER Safety and quality count Highest precision with the utmost flexibility This is one of the strengths of ULF-Tec. This is also the case with the screw feeder. Maintenance-friendly and service-friendly, as well as being easy to clean, it is also convincing in the most demanding applications. The screw feeder is suitable for filling all powdered products. A feeding screw is situated above the feeder, with its inlet connected to a product storage container. The dosing screw is situated in the funnel and a stirring mechanism, for which the feed process is started by pressing a foot switch. The dosing screw subsequently runs through the set filling cycle. In order to ensure weight precision that is as tolerance-free as possible, as well as a fault-free production process, sieves and cones are installed in the screw feeder that are optimally adapted to the product. All parts of the dosage feeder are comprised of tested materials, which meet the product requirements in terms of their characteristics, such as being food safe.
