4 CELLRO origins The machine industry: the origins of CELLRO CELLRO s roots lie in the machine industry. Founder Bram de Koning has been active in this market for many years and has experience from various machine companies. The need since 2000 to automate the production process more cleverly has arisen from the desire to produce more effectively and efficiently. A suitable solution in the market appeared not to exist. The idea of developing our own universal process-controlled automation solution came into being. And here lies the basis for the CELLRO concept: automation in a fixed element to which various machines can be connected. CELLRO was founded in 2003 and applied itself to the development of high quality automated solutions that could be built up with modules. With knowledge and experience gained from the machine industry, CELLRO literally knows as no other which applications and methods the automated cells must have to work efficiently. 11 CELLRO Basic CELLRO Smart Basic control: well-arranged and decisive Smart control: a true manager The Basic control system is an attractive solution for product loading and product exchange in the production of small to large series. The machine leads the communication between the robot and the machine. The software is installed in the robot controller. The information is clearly shown with the help of the user-friendly Touch-Pendant. It is easy for the user to give orders and adapt activities. Experience has taught us that after a short course, operation is quick and efficient. Basic control is also an interesting investment price-wise; only the software and the Touch-Pendant are required therefore no extra control components are required. The system is even more powerful when pallets are exchanged using automatic clamps. The system will perfectly function with small to medium series production. Smart is the controlling factor in communication between the robot(s) and the machine(s). It is operated via a separate panel with a clearly arranged screen. Among other things, the status of the pallets can be seen. Other variables can be added depending on your production process. 12 CELLRO Advanced CELLRO Integrated Advanced control Integrated control Advanced is the control system when intelligence plays a part in the combination of machine and automation. It is a system that supports decision-forming and is a strong platform that reacts effectively to deviations and takes corrective measures without human intervention. The Advanced control can be used for a multitude of actions to pallet, tools and product up to and including deburring and cleaning parts. External equipment, such as measuring benches and cleaning systems, can also be connected to the Advanced control. Robotcell and the machine communicate via Ethernet. The Advanced control has a powerful database function. It connects details to actions, an intelligent feature that increases as more knowledge is added to the system without the hardware requiring adaptation. The control software is written in WINCC SCADA from Siemens, the most popular software for intelligent production systems. It is controlled by means of an industrial PC which shows all the functions. The large, clearly arranged screen graphically shows the relevant production and process details. The operator can use a touch screen or a keyboard as required. The control organises among other things: NC management and tool management, the presence of the necessary components such as clamping means, tools and materials, clever capacity planning and the occupancy of the Robotcell and machine. As with all the automation solutions from CELLRO, the Advanced control is also a future-proof investment. That means: quick construction during installation and as good as unlimited opportunities to extend the machine quickly and easily. For instance adding Tool management is an option so the cell control can register the effectivity of the tools. The reporting feature shows information in clear diagrams such as tool data, cutting data and standing time and important parameters to further optimise the production process. Naturally the Advanced control offers opportunities for expansion so that developing size and degree of automation is possible in the long term. The Integrated control is a company-wide platform; the solution for the control and monitoring of comprehensive production systems with multiple machines, peripheral equipment and several robots. The Integrated control is not only aimed at the internal cell process with this but also at the external process. Detailed planning, processing programmes, tool management, quality assurance, planning and delivery time are parts of the powerful planning module, aimed at control, monitoring, registration and optimisation. The Integrated control has an extensive package of features including the control of periphery equipment such as measuring benches and cleaning systems. And outside the cell; treatment of parts outside the cell, complete tool assurance including linkage to pre-setting equipment, management of CNC programmes and a direct link to the CAM pack. Process data is monitored and managed and can be clearly presented to various company segments including of course the management. The system leads in the communication between the robot and the machines, an important advantage for the structure in production processes and order processing. Information from the ERP system can be exchanged with the Robotcells via the Integrated control exchange and visa versa. Direct linkage gains extra time because the data is only inputted once, which automatically leads to a more efficient production without paper. The control anticipates all the requirements of the MES functionalities.
