10 PCMS Analysis Analyzed requirements from other States No other states reviewed included luminosity requirements. Sign height and legibility requirements varied among states Reviewed Current TMUTCD, Ch. 2.L 2L.04 - Spacing between message lines should be between 50 and 75 percent of the letter height. 2L.03 The message should be legible minimum distance of 600 feet nighttime 800 feet daylight.

11 PCMS Results New Required SP Removed minimum dimensions and luminosity requirements. Added spacing requirements between message lines (per 2011 TMUTCD). Updated legibility distance (per 2011 TMUTCD). Required on all projects beginning with January 2013 letting Need for closer coordination between divisions when developing / revising Construction and Purchase specifications for the same items.
