3 Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) Nanyang Polytechnic is a premier tertiary institution dedicated to meeting the manpower needs of Singapore and the aspirations of our students. Established in 1992, the history of NYP goes back to the late 70s and early 80s the days of the French-Singapore Institute (FSI), German-Singapore Institute (GSI), Japan-Singapore Institute (JSI) and Precision Engineering Institute (PEI). These Institutes of Technology were transferred from the Economic Development Board (EDB) to Nanyang Polytechnic to become part of our School of Engineering. We have a long tradition of working in partnership with industry and educational institutions. These partnerships have grown stronger over the years, adding value to our teaching and learning. Today, NYP has seven Schools offering a wide range of courses in engineering, information technology, design, interactive & digital media, business management, health sciences and chemical & life sciences. These courses cater to students seeking a quality polytechnic education and to working professionals looking at upgrading opportunities. 4 Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore's national land use planning authority. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality. Prudent land use planning has enabled Singapore to enjoy strong economic growth and social cohesion, and ensures that sufficient land is safeguarded to support continued economic progress and future development. Given Singapore's small size, judicious land use planning is critical for the nation's future. URA has to take into consideration not just the needs of the city but all the needs of an independent nation and provide sufficient land for economic growth and future development. Their mission is to make Singapore a great city to live, work and play in. They carry out their mission by planning and facilitating the physical development of Singapore, in partnership with the community, to create a vibrant, sustainable and cosmopolitan city of distinction.

5 PSA Singapore PSA terminals handle about one-fifth of the world's total container transhipment throughput. In 2008, PSA Singapore Terminals handled 29.0 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUS) of containers. PSA operates 4 container terminals and 2 multi-purpose terminals in Singapore, and links shippers to an excellent network of 200 shipping lines with connections to 600 ports in 123 countries. PSA Singapore Terminals PSA Singapore Terminals is the flagship terminal of PSA International, one of the leading global port groups, with investments in 28 port projects in 16 countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas. In 2008, the Singapore Terminals handled 29.0 million TEUs of containers while the Group's global throughput was 63.2 million TEUs. PSA Singapore Terminals is the world's busiest transhipment hub, handling about one-fifth of the world's total container transhipment throughput, and 6% of global container throughput. It is also one of the world's largest refrigerated container (reefer) ports with over 5,000 reefer points, handling more than a million reefers in PSA Singapore Terminals provides shippers with an excellent choice of 200 shipping lines with connections to 600 ports in 123 countries. This includes daily sailings to every major port in the world. It was voted the "Best Container Terminal Operator (Asia) for the 20th time at the 2009 Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards, and "Container Terminal Operator of the Year" at the Lloyd's List Asia Awards, for the 8th time in Marine Services The core businesses of PSA Marine (Pte) Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PSA International, are pilotage and towage. Beyond Singapore, it has established towage presence in India, China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia through various subsidiaries and joint venture companies. With a fleet of more than 60 modern and highly manoeuvrable harbour tugs, PSA Marine is the largest harbour tug owner and operator in Asia.

6 Institute of Technical Education (ITE) The Institute of Technical Education (ITE), a statutory board under the Ministry of Education, is a post-secondary institution that provides pre-employment training to secondary school leavers and continuing education and training to working adults. Since its establishment on 1 April 1992, ITE has developed itself into an institution well-known for its provision of a broad-based, multi-disciplinary curriculum that ranges from engineering to technical, business and service skills areas. Established in 1992, ITE is today an internationally-recognised, post-secondary education institution providing school leavers with our unique brand of Hands-on, Minds-on, Hearts-on College Education. We have nurtured and produced many allrounded graduates with the education and skills to face the challenges of the global marketplace. To date, over 280,000 of Singapore s workforce have benefited from an ITE education. The knowledge, skills and values they acquired at ITE have put many on the path to success in their careers as skilled professionals. Many ITE graduates have gone on to become supervisors, managers and entrepreneurs, locally and abroad. An increasing number of ITE graduates have gone on to further their studies at the diploma and degree levels. In recent years, we have also taken ITE education overseas to places like Shanghai, Beijing and Vietnam.

7 JURONG ISLAND Created through the engineering feat of amalgamating seven islands south of Singapore, Jurong Island today stands poised to become Singapore s very own global chemicals hub. The island is home to over 94 leading petroleum, petrochemical, specialty chemical and supporting companies, who together, have made a total investment of more than S$31 billion in fixed assets on site. The who s who on Jurong Island includes top Global Companies like Air Products, Akzo Nobel, Asahi Kasei, Celanese, Chevron Philips, Eastman Chemical, ExxonMobil, Huntsman Corp, Mitsui Chemicals, Shell, Sumitomo Chemicals, and Teijin. Jurong Island offers a full spectrum of integrated utilities through well-respected third party service providers such as SembCorp Utilities, Vopak, Oiltanking, Rotary IMC, Katoen Natie SembCorp and Poh Tiong Choon. These companies offer services that include energy and water resources, tankage and terminalling facilities, warehousing, maintenance and repair support. 8 KEPPEL FELS Keppel O&M, integrating the experience and expertise of Keppel FELS, Keppel Shipyard, Keppel Singmarine and its yards overseas, was established in A wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Corporation, Keppel O&M is one of the largest offshore and marine groups in the world. 9 Public Utilities Board (PUB) PUB is a statutory board under the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources. It is the water agency that manages Singapore s water supply, water catchment and sewerage in an integrated way. PUB won the 2007 Stockholm Industry Water Award and was named Water Agency of the Year at the Global Water Awards About PUB s tagline: Water for All: Conserve, Value, Enjoy PUB has ensured a diversified and sustainable supply of water for Singapore with the Four National Taps (local catchment water, imported water, NEWater, desalinated water). To provide water for all, PUB calls on all Singaporeans to play our part to conserve water, keep our water catchments and waterways clean and build a relationship with water so we can enjoy our water resources. We can then have enough water for all uses for industry, for living, for life About the Marina Barrage Built across the mouth of the Marina Channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore s 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city. With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, or one-sixth the size of Singapore, the Marina catchment is the island s largest and most urbanised catchment. Together with two other new reservoirs, the Marina Reservoir will boost Singapore s water catchment from half to two-third s of the country s land area.
