2 Number: SCD Revision: O Page 2 of 10 POLICY SCOPE: This Engineering Specification defines TEL FSI, INC s general requirements for identifying and packaging products delivered to TEL FSI, INC from our suppliers. Product identification is required for product traceability and inventory purposes at TEL FSI. Packaging requirements are driven by the semiconductor equipment customers we serve. PURPOSE: This document is intended to provide product identification and package labeling requirements for part(s) purchased from TEL FSI, INC suppliers. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: ENG Spec , Packaging Requirements for TEL FSI PUR-1014, SAP Advance Deviation Authorization (ADA) REQUIREMENT: N/A

3 Number: SCD Revision: O Page 3 of 10 GLOSSARY OF TERMS: Labeling: Marking: Labeling refers to the physical marking of packaging material or removable masking in which the product or raw material resides. Marking refers to physically marking the part itself. i.e. serial numbers, unique TEL FSI, INC marking requested on the drawing, etc. Marking is defined by the TEL FSI, INC drawing Packaging Requirements for TEL FSI, INC s a more specific document controlling packaging for special product. i.e. ESDS, vacuum system, and reusable packaging. Human Readable: Machine Readable: Able to be read and understood by people, as opposed to codes read by machines. An optical representation of data able to be read and understood by machines (a bar code scanner), as opposed to codes read by people. Standard Code 39: Industry standard (ISO/IEC 16388) for formatting and encoding bar code information. Standard Code 128: LHG Advance Deviation Authorization SAP Supplier Code RMA Industry standard (ISO/IEC 15417) for formatting and encoding bar code information. Logistical Handling Group a set of defined codes that describe the nature of the required packaging and/or labeling for a part or assembly. Advance deviation authorization is defined as the process for revising drawings or requirements at a supplier during the performance of a purchase order. A 6 digit code in the SAP system that identifies a specific supplier. Return Material Authorization All part identification specifications in this document are superseded by the TEL FSI print, unless otherwise specified in this document.

Label information must be legible and approximately a 12 point size (any font allowed b. Unless specified on the TEL FSI, INC drawing, labels shall be attached to the packaging material (i.e. plastic bag) or in the case of raw material, such as sheet, to the protective masking itself c. Do not place the labels on the parts themselves d. Unless otherwise specified, labels can be made of paper e. All machine readable (barcode) information must use Standard Code 128 or 39 If the supplier chooses to pass through an OEM part that has not modified, then the OEM part number should remain on the part and it must match with the information listed on TEL FSI, INC print. f. Any label used may not be made of any particulate sheading material, such as paper or cardboard. The label material must be resistant to moisture and mild chemicals, unless specified otherwise on the print.

7 Number: SCD Revision: O Page 7 of Special Labeling TEL FSI, INC drawings may specify the LHG designation with the requirements listed in Packaging Requirements for TEL FSI, INC. These Requirements vary based on the LHG code referenced. a. Contamination Sensitive/Re-usable Packaging (CRP) Special handling, cleaning and labeling are required for this class. Reference specification , Packaging Requirements for TEL FSI for details. b. Contamination Sensitive/Vacuum Part (CSP) Special handling, cleaning and labeling are required for this class. Reference specification , Packaging Requirements for TEL FSI for details. c. Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive Components (ESD) Special handling, cleaning and labeling are required for this class. Reference specification , Packaging Requirements for TEL FSI for details. d. Visually Sensitive or Delicate Parts Packaging (VSP) 4.0 Part Marking Special handling, cleaning and labeling are required for this class. Reference specification , Packaging Requirements for TEL FSI for details. a. TEL FSI, INC drawings may specify that the part itself be stamped or marked. A specific note on the TEL FSI, INC drawing should specify the location, the marking technique, marking location and the type of ink, generally an indelible ink, contrasting in color. The drawing note should also specify what information is required, and how it should be formatted. b. The part making must be completely legible. The part marking many not be smeared, smudged, or have overspray. c. If the part marking is machined into the part, and is changed. The original characters must be completely removed. d. If the product has a shelf life, the product should be marked with a date code or date stamp, declaring the expiration date.

The marking media must tolerate when wiped with an Alcohol & water solution 5.0 Part Serialization a. Not required unless specified by the TEL FSI, INC drawing, or associated documentation, such as Test Reports. b. When required part serial numbers shall be included on the part label as outlined in Appendix A - Optional Label Specification.

However if the supplier has barcoding capability it is preferred that the OPTIONAL barcode label be used. a. Optional Label Specification b. Current packaging label placement and application requirements remain in effect c. Barcode (machine readable) type: Either Standard Code 128 or 39 d. Products and materials provided by TEL FSI, INC s supplier shall include: (see example #3 next page) e. Optional Part Packaging label must include the following label elements in human readable text and barcode machine readable, as specified: Label Elements: Purchase Order Number TEL FSI, INC Part Number Part Serial Number [if applicable] Part Number Revision Level Date of Manufacture (preferred) or Date Shipped Advance Deviation Authorization (ADA) # [if applicable] DO NOT place the letters ADA on the label (Human or Machine Readable)
