Overview What is u.achieve? u.achieve is an online degree auditing tool that is available to students and advisors. The system is designed to help evaluate your progress towards completion of requirements for a major/program by taking your courses and inserting them into the requirements for a degree. The system can be used to examine progress in your declared major or in any other major/program we offer (e.g., you may conduct an audit in a major that you are considering switching into). What will this guide cover? Running a standard degree audit Running a "what-if" degree audit Reviewing the degree audit Questions? 3 Page 1 Running a Current Degree Audit To run a degree audit, log-in to your MyUT portal. You will find the Run Degree Audit link under the My Records header of My Toolkit. After clicking the link, you will be directed to Request an Audit. This screen will allow you to Run Current Programs or run a "what-if" degree audit. First, we will show how to Run Current Programs. Run Current Programs is the default setting. Simply click Run Audit. There are additional advanced settings one can apply to the default audit, which will be explained on the next page. However, the default settings will be those used most commonly.

Request an Audit (Advanced Settings) The following options are available under Advanced Settings: Run Type: From the drop-down list, select S-Degree Audit w/ Course Sort. Format: From the drop-down list, select Regular (HTML) or PDF. COM: ONL - Undergraduate/Graduate & Law is the default selection. This should be left as is. After all settings have been selected, click Run Declared Programs to run your current degree program. You will then be directed to the Completed Audit Requests screen. Page 2

Running a Current Degree Audit The Completed Audit Requests screen populates with every requested audit. Select the audit you would like to review (generally the most recent) and click View Audit. You are then taken to the audit screen. Page 3

"What-if" Audits Next, if appropriate, you will select any additional concentrations or minors. Page 4 Alternatively, you can run a "what-if" audit using a custom degree program by clicking Select a Different Program. "What-if" audits are useful for determining how your current coursework might translate in another degree program. To run a "what-if" audit, begin by clicking Select a Different Program from the Request an Audit screen. A new menu will appear with four fields to specify: College, Major, Program and Catalog Year. Begin by selecting the appropriate college. From there, select a major from within that college. Finally, select the catalog year. (A catalog year denotes the curriculum requirements for your program and is tied to the semester you declared a major.)

"What-if" - Concentrations & Minors Page 5 For example, you want to know how your coursework might translate into the English program. Not only that, but you are interested in a concentration in Literature, as well as a minor in French. Begin by populating the college, major and catalog year: Once the college, major and catalog year have been entered, they appear in green text and the concentration and minor options appear. Click First Concentration to add a concentration.

"What-if" - Concentrations & Minors As you can see in the example, clicking the First Concentration button opens a new menu on the right side of the screen with all of the available concentrations for the selected major. After selecting the concentration, it will appear under the left side menu and the option to add an Additional Concentration will appear. To add a minor, click the First Minor button and select from the drop down menu on the right side of the screen. In our example, we have selected a French minor. There is also the option of adding additional minors. Page 6

"What-if" - Concentrations & Minors Here you can see our intended degree program (BA English) with the concentration in Literature and French minor. To run the audit with these parameters, click Run Different Program. The audit will then be loaded. Page 7

"What-if" - Concentrations & Minors Page 8 After loading, you will see the degree audit with the chosen program selections.

Reviewing an Audit The degree audit has three tabs: Audit Results, Course History, and Applied Exceptions. The Audit Results tab (default tab) displays the interactive components and the text of the degree audit. To interpret the degree audit results, click the question mark icon to view a legend. Clicking the icon will open a new window. Page 10

Reviewing an Audit To view your course history, including transfer work, click the Course History tab. This will display the Course History graph and course details (e.g., term, hours, grade, etc.). The course list can be filtered by grade and/or term. Page 11

Reviewing an Audit The Course History page is displayed below To view the types of exceptions (individual changes to your degree audit made by your advisor) that have been applied to your degree audit, click the Applied Exceptions tab. Page 12

Reviewing an Audit The Applied Exceptions page is displayed below: Here you can see any exceptions that have been applied to your degree audit. In the above example, a humanities requirement had a course inserted as an exception to the usual set of acceptable courses. Page 13

Interpreting an Audit Each section of the audit will list requirements needed and fulfilled as well as list a required GPA (if applicable). In Progress Not Complete, also shows courses and hours needed Complete Page 14

Interpreting an Audit You are also able to view any coursework not used in your program, as well as transfer credit. These can be seen at the bottom of the audit. Please note: This Degree Audit Report is designed to help you make informed decisions regarding your academic progress. The Degree Audit Report helps you forecast degree completion and is used for planning purposes. It is not an official transcript of your academic record, and verification of college and degree requirements can only be certified by your college. Page 15
