EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg Introduction EuroAirport - Serving the needs of the RegioTriRhena With 7.89 million passengers in 2017 EuroAirport reached a new milestone in its history Founded by France and Switzerland in 1946 Located in crossroads of three economically thriving regions (Alsace, North West Switzerland and Baden-Württemberg) About daily flight easyjet, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, TUIfly, Air France, Britisch Airways World leading competence center for aircraft maintenance and outfitting Jet Aviation, AMAC Aerospace and Air Service Basel Sept 27,

EuroAirport Introduction Key Points m2 for tertiary 25 Buildings 25 MW Heating power 4 MW Cooling power 55 Electrical Transformers 1 Gas station for light vehicles Sept 27,

Needs and Requirements Global Energy Performance Diagnose (EPD) The French thermal regulations rules RT20xx requires that public buildings display the EPD on EuroAirport mandated a specialist company with a diagnose. Results were: Based on this diagnose, EAP realized that they need a tool for energy management. Sept 27,

EuroAirport s requirements for Energy Management Tool Mandatory Collecting data available according to current complex data processes Generating energy dashboard (monthly or yearly). Helping to generate energy invoice to EuroAirport customers Having an administration interface easy to use. Users have No IT or SGBD knowledge and must be able to manage the tool by themselves. Important Grouping data according to EuroAirport specifications. Allowing the correction of data being collected Exporting of dashboard or reports (pdf, excel, ) Generating alarms according to consumption limits Using data to create virtual data (sum and other mathematic operations) Allowing the comparison of consumption year by year or month by month Sept 27,

Features Energy data based on measurement data, key figures is the solution EuroAirport chose. and reference variables Forecast functions Standard reports, scatter and carpet plots, load curves Logbook in line with ISO Data Connector for building management systems such as novapro Open, novapro Enterprise, Direct data acquisition Energy Data Loggers, BACnet Web-based graphic display Allocation of consumption and costs to cost centres and tenants; Aggregation (compression) of measurement data Sept 27,

EMS Project Phases EMS at the EuroAirport Measure Concept Tool Integration Energy Management How do we collect data from the field? How EMS is to be customized for EAP? How EMS is involved in Energy Management Process? Sept 27,

Multi-Source EMS at the EuroAirport Measure Concept Multi-Sources SAUTER Scada system (npe) for Gas, Heating and Water Third Party's scada (PC Vue) system for one part of Electricity data XML files sent by ERDF (French electricity provider) XLS files to collect historical data (Since 2005) and useful information like Heating Degree Days Manual input for some water meters, invoiced measures. Formulas : For a couple of pieces of information, it was necessary to put in place "virtual" meter, result of formula calculation. Sept 27,

Customization was done 100% by EuroAirport people. EMS at the EuroAirport How EMS is to be customized for EAP? SAUTER Training Sessions for EuroAirport EMS specialists 4 people trained ( 2 from electricity, 1 from fluids and 1 from IT) Creation of some specific BIRT reports 0,5 day/month for customer assist EuroAirport Content organization Data point name rules : EuroAirport put a DP names definition rule to have data available to read for all EuroAirport people. Group definition : all groups were done by EuroAirport to organize data inside EMS Sept 27,

Energy Managemet Process Energy Management Technical Workgroup created around Energy Management and Facilities. Electricity, HVAC, invoicing. EMS is managed as an IT project Invoicing Some specific Business Object Reports, linked directly to EMS database, allow Invoicing Department to create customer s invoices Some customers receive, with their invoice, an EMS pdf portal attached. Control Management Using EMS as source to compare provider invoices and real consumption on field. Environment Using EMS as source to collect information and using it for some public communication support. Sept 27,

Where is EMS of help to EAP? To centralize, validate and safe data EMS at the EuroAirport With the Measure Concept phase, data is validated. EMS includes a backup system allow us to not worry about problems. Easy to access data The web interface is easy to use Configuration can be done without any external tool Create a graph, a KPI or display data table does not need any Database knowledge Focus on the essential Before EMS, most of the time dedicated to energy analysis was spent collecting information. With EMS, most of the time is dedicated to energy analysis and is efficient. Sept 27,

From Basel to Paris Sept 27,

Charles de Gaulle airport S3, S4 of Terminal 2E CDG: largest international airport in France and the second largest in Europe In passengers, 475,654 aircraft movements making it the world's tenth-busiest airport, and Europe's secondbusiest airport (after London Heathrow) in terms of passenger numbers S3 of Terminal 2E Floor space: m 2 spread over 7 levels, providing a handling capacity of 8.5 million passengers. Sept 27,

All parts of the network are equipped with meters, which, in turn, are connected to the EMS. This enables the energy consumption to be tracked and monitored, and also to be analyzed and processed on a daily basis. In addition, the EMS energy management software and the monitoring system for the technical installations are permanently connected with each other, so that settings for the installations can be adjusted in order to achieve the stated objectives without compromising the comfort of the passengers. Sept 27,

Results at S3 S3 of Terminal 2E Energy savings for heating of 38 % Chilled water decreased by 3 % compared with the targets and by 6 % compared with the previous year electricity fell by as much as 8 % consumption of domestic cold water decreased by nearly 4 % compared with the previous year. Sept 27,

Alain Stephan, the manager responsible for technology and installation at S3 and S4 at Charles de Gaulle Airport, says: Environmental aspects are taking on an increasingly important role in our daily business. For this reason, energy has to be managed well. EMS offers simple energy monitoring and a comprehensive overview of our energy expenses. Sept 27,

Saving energy, resources, time Saving without loss of comfort Increase efficiency = Avoid waste Waste is any human activity that consumes resources but generates no value. Operation excellence Sept 27,

Nature can afford the waste in everything, the artist must be thrifty to the last. (Paul Klee) Sept 27,
