2 Pneumatic transport Pneumatic transport is the way of the transport of bulk material. The carrier medium is air, so the transport of material through duct by direct or indirect dynamic effects of air flow upon particles to be transported is concerned. Pneumatic transport can be classified to mobile and stationary transport. As mobile pneumatic transport we can count the transport of bulk material by various mobile means containers, dry-bulk tank trucks, semitrailers. As stationary pneumatic transport we can consider fixed built-in equipment at certain place. ZVVZ-Enven Engineering supplies stationary pneumatic transport (hereinafter referred to as pneumatic transport) as turn-key deliveries including all its necessary components. Field of application of pneumatic transport As an independent equipment designed for the transport of bulk materials in various production processes, mainly for the transport of nonadhesive, powdery or fine granular material, such as cement, fly ash, limestone, kaolin, foundry sand etc. As an additional part of air handling systems, used for the removal of separated solid particles for storage and dumping of waste or for transport of separated products for further processing.

3 Types of stationary pneumatic transport Low pressure transport Medium pressure transport High pressure transport Pneumatic channel transport As an example of the low pressure transport we can consider the ejector mixer. The transport distances are limited by transport air pressure to be used. Usual transport outputs of the low pressure transport are 0.1 to 2 t/h at transport distances of 30 to 40 meters. The medium pressure transport uses blowers with the air pressure up to 0.1 MPa as sources of air and special rotary feeders as mixers. The functional elements of the high pressure transport are cell and screw feeders. The screw feeders also known as Fullers pumps are suitable for smaller construction heights, for transport output of 60 t/h and distances up to 300 meters. However they are not suitable for the transport of abrasive materials. The cell feeders however find the best application and are used for the transport of large volumes of material for long distances. Transport output depending on size of used feeder can be 10 to 150 t/h at transport distance up to 1,000 meters. Pneumatic channel transport is convenient especially from the point of view of energy saving and lower mechanical wear. This kind of transport is suitable for outputs up to 400 t/h of transported material. The slope of the channel is 4 to 10 %. It can be used for shorter transport distances where a natural decline can be took advantage of. The above mentioned systems of pneumatic transport can be extended with elements of mechanical transport and thus it can meet the most demanding requirements of the customers.

4 High pressure pneumatic transport t and storage of bulk material The system of the high pressure pneumatic transport consists of: equipment for easy unloading of transported material from the storage tanks into a transport device, i.e. the aeration equipment of storage tanks, storage tank closures and pneumatic unloader, feeder of the material, where the material gets mixed with the transport air and is carried through the pipeline to the place of destination, pipeline for transport which connects the place where the material is loaded to the place of destination, including branch pipes, Y-pieces and closures, separator which separates the transported material from transport air and provides the required purity of air which is emitted into the surrounding environment, source of transport air, fitted with the distribution elements of air duct, safety, control and closing fittings, air drier, water separator and air tank Storage tank 2 Filling duct 3 Aeration 4 Closure of storage tank 5 Pneumatic unloader 6 Cell feeder 7 Ventilation of cell feeder 8 Closure of transport duct 9 Transport duct 10 Y-branch of transport duct 11 Operating storage tanks 12 Safety device 13 Filter device of storage tanks 14 Pipeline distribution system of compressed air 15 Storage tank closure 16 Feeder 17 Cyclone dust separator

5 Pneumatic transport with mixers The system of pneumatic transport of material with mixers is suitable for dry, nonadhesive, bulk materials, transported continuously in smaller volumes for further processing or storing (for example transport of separated fly ash in boiler houses). The separated material falls from the discharge hopper into the rotary feeder with a mixer below it, where the material is mixed with air. The source of compressed air is a fan or a blower. Deaeration of operating storage tanks is performed with help of a filter device, located on the storage tank. Especially for short distance transport where there are suitable conditions and there is enough space for the necessary incline of the pneumatic transport channels. In this case the transport equipment consists of a source of compressed air (mostly a fan station), compressed air supply with regulating element, channels, including inlets for material, branches, ventilation flaps, discharge holes and deaeration. The transport channel of modular structure enables various options of transport line configuration: inlet of material from several places, branching and discharging of material, including inspection holes, inlet of transport air and deaeration.
