Several models and algorithms have been developed stressing on four main themes: -the design of a resilient IT structure to model the existing working environment or a green field project. -the choice of industrial cooking machines based on their thermal efficiency and environmental impact; different thermal service plant (heat, gas, electricity) have been analysed and compared. -production costs accounting based on single-reference KPIs aiming to support the design of a modular, flexible and profitable menu. -the design of the number of machine to serve the kitchen based on statics and semi-statics methods, highlighting criticalities and bottlenecks. A metaheuristics algorithm has been developed to reduce the maximum number of machines (the peak) required in a specific time instant measuring the effects on production scheduling. Windows form has been used in order to programmatically execute algorithms and generate easy graphs and dashboard usable by non-skilled users.

3 Internship in the collective food service industry (CAMST Soc. Coop. a r.l.) The internship had as main topic the data collection campaign in order to feed IT infrastructure aimed to optimize the production system and the re-engineering of the processes. It has been performed in team with other students. Several campaigns have been set, in particular: -production cycle measurement and digitalization -temperature measurement during the packing phase -machine specification -literature review on the thermal efficiency of cooking machines All the results have been monthly shared with the task force of the company devoted to the design of a green field production plant. Figure 3: ER structure designed to host all the data collected (in Italian) Internship in a spare parts automotive warehousing system (CHIMAR SpA) Internship at the Department of Industrial Engineering within a partnership with a 3PL leader company. Data collection campaigns have been developed in order to support the decision phase to participate a tender call for the management of a novel storage system held by two company of the luxury automotive sector. Advanced commercial (MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint ) and special purpose software have been used to perform the analysis. Results have been used in order to propose 5 alternative layouts estimating logistics performances (volume, time, chilometers) and cost performances for each of them. Internship in a 3PL company (DUETORRI SpA) Support for a thermal monitoring activity within a traditional storage system for pharmaceutical products. Preliminary on-field data collection using a thermo-camera followed by the positioning of specific thermal sensors in order to get details of each specific section of the warehouse.

4 Bachelor thesis in the agri-food distribution sector (Dept. of Industrial Engineering) Title: Models and methods for the analysis and the optimization of distribution flows on a regional, national and European scale. Several temporal distributions of orders and availability of trucks have been analysed and simulated in order to find the better cost compromise. Critical situations have been discovered using logistics KPI measured through an original decision support tool developed in Windows Form. The thesis contribute has been formalized as an article published on a scientific journal..
