It transmits CANbus data to a user interface, which relates to all aspects of vehicle and driver performance. The data which our clients receive is as accurate as possible. It comes direct from the vehicle and no other data sets or algorithms are applied, reducing the risk for human error. These responsibilities cannot be overlooked by any company who has employees driving on business related matters. 13 Incident Data Recording First Notification of Loss (FNOL) Vehicle telematics is a way of receiving information about your fleet, field assets, monitoring their location, overall efficiency, status and behavior of a driver and/or vehicle. Incident Data Recording is a feature that detects potential impacts to the vehicle using an algorithm to analyse the Remote Telematics Unit (RTU) accelerometer and vehicle data. When a potential impact is detected, the RTU sends an incident event that contains basic details sufficient to make an initial conjecture to if the event is a real collision or a minor incident. The RTU records vehicle and accelerometer data leading up to the event and after the event that can be requested, analysed and accessible remotely via our web application. The aim was to improve overall vehicle utilisation and route planning, to reduce any unnecessary usage or inefficient schedules. As a fleet with trackers already fitted to its fleet, ERIKS opted for Airmax for its data rich information, future proofed product and to reduce its current telematics in life costs. By changing telematics supplier, ERIKS was able to migrate to a single provider for both tracking and mileage expense platforms, where HMRC compliance is necessary part for the business. BACKGROUND: Morgan Sindall (MS) was previously with a leasing company that provided a comparable service. Airmax were appointed by MS for its ability to provide a strategic and joint relationship. Airmax developed its latest service RMM, an expense management system suitable for both company and grey fleet vehicles. RMM was developed within 8 weeks with MS as lead customer. RESULTS: By implementing an automated expense system, linked to the DVLA, we were able to completely mitigate the risk of drivers overclaiming or using the wrong engine site or fuel type. In addition, by installing telematics the client was able to reduce its overall business miles claimed by 28% in year one, as it increased the data accuracy. This was achieved by improving the visibility of potential personal trips being included within business trips and reducing unnecessary trips by implementing car sharing schemes. OBJECTIVE: Partnering with Airmax in 2007, West Yorkshire Police needed to improve identification of drivers within their fleet and integration to the new home office standard RFID warrant card enabled WYP, to monitor driving style and specific journeys with full real time GPS-based vehicle location.
