The short passage into port means safe navigation, saved time and therefore lower costs. The port of Oxelösund has immediate access to open sea and is ice-free all year round. The benefits of our port make it possible for the very largest vessels to call into Oxelösund. We have developed safety routines together with the local Director for Maritime Administration and the Maritime Council so we can safely accommodate the very largest ships, currently Capesize vessels (length 244 m, beam 42,5 m) or Panamax. We ran both full-scale and drawing-board simulation before making our final decisions. We have improved channel marking and will operate a very high-precision GPS system. 7 Stockholm 100 km Our Position Central port for the Stockholm/Mälardalen area The port of Oxelösund is situated at the centre of an area of huge economic growth. The Baltic region is expanding. Central Sweden, and especially the Stockholm-Mälardalen region, is expanding. Nearly 3 million people, a third of the Swedish population, live within a 150 km radius. We are close to the customer. Our proximity to markets in Finland, the Baltic States, Russia, Poland and Germany makes our position even stronger. Infrastructure The port of Oxelösund is connected directly to the motorway system. We have rail links right to the dockside and we are within easy reach of Stockholm-Skavsta airport. Oxelösund is a port of national importance and has been selected by the EU to form part of the Transeuropean Transport Network (TEN-T). In 2006 we installed a crane with a quayside operating radius of 23,5 m and a 45 ton hook lift/25 ton grab lift capacity. This brought in container traffic from Northern Germany and other countries, which is expected to increase in the future. Container traffic is managed through a modern, co-ordinated network involving commodity suppliers, shipping companies and forwarding agents based at the port. 11

14 Bulk and Oil Storage The Port of Oxelösund covers a surface area of 750,000 m 2 and we have 345,000 m 2 of storage area. We have an unused area locally of 100,000 m 2, which with relatively modest investment could be developed to keep pace with a growing business. We own the entire port infrastructure and are also planning in the future to make available an industrial area of between 40,000 and 50,000 m 2. Rock Cavern Oil Storage Warehousing and Storage Extensive inside storage space, including one dehumidified storage area Outside storage space of 345,000 m 2 Rock cavern oil storage facility for 1 million m 3 3 storage tanks The Port of Oxelösund owns one of Europe s largest rock cavern storage facilities for fuel oil with a total capacity of 1 million m 3. This rock cavern storage is an important hub in the international oil business network. We have capacity for further expansion. 14
