8 OBJECTIVES LED DoT Principles Principle Consistent Responsive Effective Efficient Accountable Detail Undertake all work within the framework of Policy Agenda , Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 and the DoT Entity Strategic Plan Respond to the diverse and changing needs of the community and the economy Give priority to the movement of people and goods rather than vehicles Protect public safety, the environment and social equity Make the best use of all modes of transport in the development and operation of the transport system Prioritize initiatives based on consistent assessment that takes account of all impacts Ensure that the benefits of initiatives exceed their cost Plan and manage initiatives to minimize life-cycle costs Strengthen the role of the private sector Manage the transport sector in a transparent manner, with excellence in public administration and professional practice Understand stakeholder concerns, and communicate information and decisions Be responsible in the use of public funds

10 What is an Option? Any intervention that contributes to project objectives: Public Transport Private Transport Demand Management New Technologies Land Use and Planning Focus today on identifying long list of interventions

11 OPTION SELECTION Identification of individual options Package options for testing. For example: Baseline (existing and committed) Light Rapid Transit Network Bus Network Rail Network Main Road Network Super Connectivity Network All Public Transport All Public Transport plus Demand Management

12 OPTION TESTING New DoT Transport Model will be used to forecast transport demand for each option Multiple-criteria assessment against objectives Economic Environmental Social Cultural Assessment framework to be developed in next two months
