16 THE NUMBERS 1. The shift to unitised freight 36% of UK ports traffic and growing 2. Import traffic from EU is less than 50% of UK ports throughput 3. Export traffic to EU is nearly 70% of throughput 4. Non-EU short sea traffic is heavily biased to imports. 5. Northern ports in England & Wales handle the highest market share of traffic, including RoRo 6. Negative growth of UK domestic maritime freight traffic is attributable to Liquid Bulk shipping. Growth of other general cargo. 7. Volume growth opportunities in dry bulk sectors and offshore energy. Stephen Taylor staylor@pclp.co
