3 Lindø Industrial Park - history Located within the Odense Steel Shipyard, founded in 1917 by A.P. Møller, Lindø division founded in 1959, Owned by A.P. Møller - Maersk Group Production facilities for large transportation vessels, including one of largest container vessels - Emma Maersk (397 m long), termination of ship production at Odense division of the shipyard

4 Lindø Industry Park: recent years decision on the termination of shipbuilding activities - strong competition of Far East, esp. China, establishment of the Lindoe Industry Park, New business model - offer to a number of external clients, development of the office and conference centres Own logistics assets and active marketing amongst wind industry players tailor-made to the offshore wind energy and heavy industry

5 Area for lease: Facilities 100 ha of developed land and buildings, 16,6 ha (166 thous. m 2 ) indoors, 200 ha of greenfield for development Production halls Harbour and docks: own harbour of 7,5 m depth Odense Harbour Terminal - 11 m depth 4 docks including large dock - L: 315 m, W: 90 m, gantry crane: up to 1000 tonnes of lifting capacity

16 Bremerhaven Port: History Founded in 1827 to serve the city of Bremen that could no longer be reached by large vessels Located 50 km North from the city of Bremen along the river Wesel Since World War II, the Bremenhaven port served as a main logistic and supply port for the US forces in Germany

17 Bremerhaven Port: Economic decline End of 1980 s economic decline resulting from withdrawal of the US forces Losses of local jobs and depopulation resulting from leaving the city by the American families Simultaneously growing competition in shipbuilding sector Decrease in population from down to , loose of 3500 jobs in shipyard industry.

18 Bremerhaven Port: Revitalization Advantage of adapting to containerised shipping Advantage of existing maritime technology know-how and staff specialized in shipbuilding, heavy machinery design and manufacturing Decision to use the maritime technology experience to emerge the deploying renewable energy sector
