COSBERG S.p.A: Founded in 1982, it is still a family owned company 2

A continuous growing reality 1982 Cosberg S.p.A. is founded in Madone (Bergamo) by Gianluigi Viscardi together with brothers Antonio and Ermanno, who still manage the company today. The company has only a small engineering department with 5 employees. Today Over the years, engineering and commercial offices and assembly departments for modules and machines have been built. The factory has a surface of 6,400 m 2 inside an area of m 2. 3

The Company Number of Employees 56 Average turnover in the last 3 years 9 millions Export Sales 60% 4

Global reality The engineering bravery of innovation, the use of more and more advanced technologies and the continuous investment in Research and Development, have allowed Cosberg to become a global reality in a few years. Employees and cooperators 91 Average turnover in the last 3 years 13 millions Euro 5

Partnerships Design and manufacturing of assembly machines, particularly motors and geared motors; mechanical machining systems. Design and manufacturing of assembly machines, particularly for braking systems (including acceptancy testing) and for hinges and other furniture accessories. Design and manufacturing of mechatronic modules: piezo-electric vibrating bases, CNC manufactured bowls, controllers and cards, electrical cylinders, mechanical pick and place arms and grippers. 7

Our core business Cosberg studies, designs and builds machines and modules for the automation of assembly processes. 8

Study, design and engineering Design of turn key assembly machines but at the same time simple, modular, versatile and re-toolable with high production rate and better performances Made in Cosberg 9

A partner for the customer Standardized solutions Personalized solutions to meet any specific customer requirement. One interlocutor only The activity is followed fully by Cosberg, from the research, conception, design, component production stages all the way to manufacturing and acceptance testing of the machines. Advantages Reduction of design and production times Less maintenance required Simplification of the project Speed 19

Innovation in Services Application of concurrent engineering and of the principles of co-design DFA (Design-for-Assembly) consultancy Feasibility analysis and optimisation of assembly processes Technical design Production and mounting of machines and of their parts Electrical, pneumatic and mechatronic plant design Plant management software, tele-assistance Machines are made fully operational and assistance in the acceptance testing, installation and start-up stages is provided Acceptance testing is carried out in the client s premises Training and formation Testing is made electronically on every single component Machinery is delivered already assembled and can be quickly made operational. After-sale assistance 20

Research and Development: Open factory Cosberg invests over 15% of its turnover every year on research and on the study of new solutions for industrial automation. It has now over 20 certified patents, like the electroresonant vibrating Piezo feeder, the rotating high speed pallet mover and the screw-driving unit for threaded screws. It cooperates with other leaders in the automation industry: Japanese companies leader in the automation sector Aidam, Ucimu Intellimech Collaborations with Universities: It is among the supporters of the introduction of the faculty of mechatronic engineering 21

FUTURE VISION Over the years, Cosberg has specialized itself in integrated services with high competitive value, such as Co-Design and Remote Monitoring. Today the automatic assembly market is more complex and demanding, both for the typology of products to be assembled and for the requirements of supply and services: ü Products with reduced dimensions (micro-assembly) ü Technological integration (with machine tools, robot and advanced vision systems) ü Logistics integration (handling, packaging, storing) ü Services integration (new remote monitoring systems) In such scenery, Cosberg wants to anticipate the market requirements with more complete solutions and services: Ø By supplying high integrated services in the chain of the final product of the customer Ø Therefore by transforming the simple machine supply into a real technological partnership 22

Thank you for you attention 23
