1 Citation SERVICE LETTER SL680A TITLE EQUIPMENT/FURNISHINGS - WINDOW SHADE COVERS REINFORCEMENT EFFECTIVITY MODEL 680A (Citation Latitude) SERIAL NUMBERS thru -0008, thru -0014, thru -0019, thru -0024, thru with manual window shades installed REASON The equivalent of this service letter has been incorporated on production airplanes -0009, -0020, -0025, -0026, -0032, -0035, and On. Window shade track installation has uneven pressure. This causes the shade to have rough operation and become crooked. DESCRIPTION This service letter provides instructions to add an additional cover to improve stability of the shade. COMPLIANCE RECOMMENDED. This service letter should be accomplished at a scheduled maintenance period or inspection. LABOR HOURS WARRANTY WORK PHASE LABOR-HOURS Modification 10.0 Eligibility: Parts Coverage: Labor Coverage: Airplanes identified within the serial number effectivity of this service document must have active Airframe warranty coverage on the original issue date of this document and the coverage must be active on the day the work is accomplished. These airplanes must return the ATG76R004 RH Cover Molded, Citation Latitude and ATG76R005 LH Cover Molded, Citation Lattitude to receive warranty coverage. Textron Aviation-owned and Textron Aviation-authorized Service Facilities, operators, or other maintenance facilities may submit a claim for the parts required to accomplish this service document as defined in the Material Information section of this document. Textron Aviation-owned and Textron Aviation-authorized Service Facilities rated to perform maintenance on the specific model of Cessna Aircraft may submit a claim for the labor necessary to accomplish this service document as defined in the Labor Hours section of this document. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the batteries and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them. 2. Right-hand Cabin: A. Remove right-hand cabin window reveal. (Refer to the Model 680A Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog, Chapter 25, Window Reveal Panels - Maintenance.) B. Remove right-hand cabin window shades.(refer to the Model 680A Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog, Chapter 25, Window Shades/Window Rings - Maintenance.) C. Perform replacement of window shade covers. (Refer to ATG Powertech Shade System Service Bulletin, _A.) D. Pull shades up and down to check for proper operation. E. Install right-hand cabin window shades. (Refer to the Model 680A Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog, Chapter 25, Window Shades/Window Rings - Maintenance.) F. Install right-hand cabin window reveal. (Refer to the Model 680A Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog, Chapter 25, Window Reveal Panels - Maintenance.) G. Pull shades up and down to check for proper operation. 3. Left-hand Cabin: A. Remove left-hand cabin window reveal. Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane batteries. 5. Make an entry in the airplane logbook that states compliance and method of compliance with this service document. NOTE: Textron Aviation recommends that compliance with all service documents is reported to Camp Systems International. Complete a record of compliance. (Maintenance Transaction Report, Log Book Entry, or other record of compliance.) Put a copy of the completed record of compliance in the airplane logbook. WORK INSTRUCTIONS 3.1 Disassembly Remove Covers 1. Position the window shade on a protective work surface on its side as shown. Revision B: 15 NOV 16 Page 5

12 2. Using the index finger, press the release tab and simultaneously hold the shell firmly while sliding the Right Hand Cover off the shell. Release Tab 3. Repeat removal steps for Left Hand Cover. Note: Both covers are to be returned to ATG. See Section 6. Note: In the event that the Release Tab breaks or is permanently damaged during removal, disregard the damage and continue with the application of this service bulletin Removal of Light Block Cover 1. Position the unit on a protective work surface with the Light Block Cover facing up. Page 6 Revision B: 15 NOV 16

13 2. Lift Light Block Cover away from shade assembly and place aside. Double Sided Tape 3. Remove and discard double-sided tape if it is attached to false bottom as shown in the image above. 3.2 Re-Assembly Installation of double sided tape 1. Clean the face of the false bottom shown below using a cleaning solvent such as alcohol. Inboard Face of False Bottom Revision B: 15 NOV 16 Page 7

14 2. Apply double-sided tape ADH-C to the inboard face of the false bottom as shown below. Double Sided Tape 3. Peal paper liner off of tape and discard it Installation of Light Block Cover 1. Clean the glossy face of the Light Block Cover using a cleaning solvent such as alcohol. 2. With the glossy side of light block cover facing down, align the edges of the light block cover with the edge of the window frame as shown below. 3. Mount the light block cover to false bottom by appling pressure to ensure the tape adheres to the light block cover. Page 8 Revision B: 15 NOV 16

15 3.2.3 Install Covers 1. Position the window shade on a protective work surface on its side as shown. 2. Place the Right Hand. Cover onto the side of the shell, starting at the corner, holding the light block cover and outboard lens in place. Revision B: 15 NOV 16 Page 9

16 3. Slide the covers in place into locking features of the shell. Locking Feature Fully Engaged Release Tab Engaged Note: If the Release Tab broke during the removal process, it will not engage, disregard the lack of engagement and proceed with this service bulletin. 4. 19 4. RETURN TO SERVICE 1. Confirm the shade is FOD (Foreign Object Debris) free. 2. Cycle shade a full cycle 5 or more times. (Full cycle defined as Full Open to Full Close to Full Open). 3. Reinstall in aircraft if required. 5.
