4 Wireless communication, software and hardware Opticon s solution includes both hardware and software necessary to manage and communicate bi-directionally with the e-paper labels. This enables a centralized administration point controlling stock levels which allows employees to focus on stock building and customer attention. Even the infrastructure is lightweight; demanding only the installation of Base Stations, which eliminates expensive back-office servers. It is simple to deploy and covers an area of 25,000 square feet per base station. The lightweight administrative application only requires an off-the-shelf Windows-based PC or mobile device. 6 product range Base Station EBS-30 From small retail to multi-store business implementation is very simple. All e-paper labels are connected to the same network and the same content management system which is connected to the back office system in the store, meaning that the prices on the e-paper labels are always matching the prices on the screen. E-PAPER LABELS 1.5 to 7.4 EE E-paper label is an ideal solution for limited shelf space where smaller products are displayed. EE E-paper label can be used when large fonts are needed to improve visibility in areas where information is displayed on upper level shelving. EE E-paper label is an excellent solution for larger product facings or in areas where product pricing needs to be more predominantly displayed. EE E-paper label can be used to highlight product promotions or where more detailed product information is required such as in the healthcare or electronic departments. 7 Specials Line-killer The Line-killer solution is in essence a portable ESL. The customer takes the linekiller device along during shopping. When finished shopping a simple press on the button will indicate how long it will take before the first cash register is available. The device will start to count down and, through led indicators and a beep sound, it is made clear to the customer to proceed to the designated cash register when available. The customer will stay longer in the shopping area instead of waiting in line, generating more sales. The line-killer comes with a 1.5 display, LED light and 3 buttons which can be controlled remotely. 10 TFT Display The 10 TFT display is developed for fruit and vegetable areas, but can also be deployed on end of the aisle promotional areas or in locations where the label needs to be more viewable such as room signs and upper level shelves. The 10 display has an integrated USB port, SD slot and Power over Ethernet enabling other purposes like a business grade tablet, hospitality terminal or a room label. Together with the power rail, this solution provides stability and flexibility to your shop. The solution has an integrated lock system, enabling fixed mounting of the display or shifting it to another position. Without the special key, the display cannot be removed ensuring factual information on the right location. On the same power rail other e-papers displays, larger screens, lighting or other solutions requiring power can be easily mounted providing flexibility to your shelves. Motion detector Opticon s Motion Detector enables live content on a display in line with the customer s actual interest. A small tag can be applied onto any product with a removable adhesive or tie wrap. When lifting the product from its place the motion detector immediately detects the product of interest and shows content on the display behind it. An attractive return on investment is to rent out the display space to suppliers. Together with NFC and/or ibeacon the display can interact with the customer and create personalized content on the spot.
