1 Schindler 9500 Horizontal Moving Walk The Reliable Solution for Public Transport Type 35

2 Rome Stazione Termini Railway Station, Italy Buffalo-Niagara International Airport, USA

3 Schindler 9500 Type 35 High Performance, Low Operating Costs Schindler is a highperformance moving walk specially engineered for the punishing environment of highvolume public transport, both indoors and outdoors. It is ideal for airports, railway stations and trade fairs. Smooth operation not only gives passengers a quiet, safe ride and facilitates easy access for fully-loaded baggage carts, it also fosters a long service life. Extremely efficient drive technology, with a choice of automatic operation and variable-speed drive options, can deliver major energy savings. Minimum Installation Space, Maximum Design Options With the smallest pit depth in the industry and compact installation dimensions, Schindler is the front runner in efficient use of space. This flexibility, along with a broad range of design options, makes it possible to integrate units into new or existing buildings as well as various outdoor settings. Design compatibility with Schindler escalators is a further asset. Because our employees are our biggest asset in the international market, we invest in them on a continuous basis. Our commitment to improving their skills and problem-solving abilities is reflected in the high level of service they are able to provide to our customers. At Your Service Schindler's support doesn't stop with the handover. The proven reliability of the company is clearly evident in its worldwide system of maintenance and spare-parts supply. Regular professional manufacturer maintenance is available, no matter where units are located. When sudden intervention is needed, Schindler-trained local maintenance teams can respond quickly. They can diagnose problems and take corrective action, so that passenger service can be resumed as soon as possible. A Winning Team A global network of product specialists provides support from the very first stages of planning, working out tailored solutions for the integration of units in accordance with particular on-site requirements. Once the project is under way, highly professional project managers pay personal attention to customer concerns, assuring that installation and handover are carried out in accordance with the project schedule.

5 Fine-Tuned Technology The pallets are guided beneath the skirting Efficient Use of Space The pit depth in the center section of only 34 cm is the smallest in the industry. This unique advantage keeps the amount of space needed for installation to a minimum and greatly simplifies integration into predefined settings. Maximum Safety Here too Schindler offers exclusive features: The pallet sides run under the skirting panels, eliminating the usual vertical side gap and thereby maximizing user safety with respect to pinching or wedging. As with all other Schindler models the patented combplate is designed so that it can move horizontally and vertically whenever pressure is applied by wedged objects. This activates a contact that immediately shuts down the moving walk. Smooth Operation for Longer Service Life The automatic operation option, controlled by a system of scan sensors, can lead to big energy savings. If the sensors are not activated during a preset automatic time, the moving walk is gently decelerated and comes to a smooth, soft stop. In contrast to conventional abrupt braking, this can greatly lengthen the life of all mechanical components. The sensors detect approaching passengers and the moving walk smoothly restarts when required. The variable-speed drive option allows a soft start as well. If complete stopping is not desired, a frequency converter makes it possible to reduce peak currents and energy use by running the unit at crawling speed. Because the short pallets are directly attached to the chain, there is no need for additional connection elements and pallet rollers. This results in quieter operation as well as in longer service life. With such uses of smart technology at its command, Schindler can provide maximum operational cost-effectiveness and ease of maintenance. Remote Monitoring and Control To keep downtime to an absolute minimum, all units in a building can be supervised and controlled in real time by the optional Schindler LobbyVision TM building management system or other types of remote monitoring. Operating parameters are monitored and recorded. Statistical reports facilitate the efficient management of all transport systems.
