Close rapport and coordination with shipping lines/port/customs authorities to ensure hassle free movement of cargo. Reliable and well-vetted transporters, who deliver cargo in the shortest possible time. Close monitoring of cargo from the time of discharge until delivery to the receiver. Goods-in-transit insurance for each shipment that we handle, to cover unexpected incidents. Close interaction with the final receiver to ensure smooth final clearance either at the border or receiving location. 5

4 Project Cargo Services One of Magellan s focus areas is handling project cargo. We have successfully handled several Over Dimensional and Overweight project cargoes that require specialised expertise. Some of the interesting projects that we have handled are: Delivery of waterpipes in Tanzania This involved clearance, transport and delivery of nearly 6,000 pipes of about 90,000 cbm. Distribution of school materials in Kenya This project was executed on behalf of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Government of Kenya. Within a tight deadline, we had to deliver the project material to the designated collection centres in all provinces of Kenya. Cement plant machinery in Zambia We handled wheel-loaders, excavators and various parcels including containerised cargoes, for a brand-new cement plant that was being established in Zambia. Airport buses We have cleared and transported several units of Cobus from Mombasa to the airports in Nairobi and Kigali. Transformers We have handled the movement of transformers within Tanzania and Zambia that required special handling at the port as well as at the offloading sites. Magellan also specialises in UN and Peacekeeping cargo movements. 6 7

5 Freight Forwarding Seafreight In addition to normal seafreight, we specialise in the following: Executing shipments for NGOs, Aid and Relief organisations. This requires special expertise in handling duty exemptions. We have also executed complicated shipments that involved several modes of transport, including barge transport on Lake Tanganyika. We are one of the leading forwarders of Tea and Pulses exports from Kenya. We offer complete coordination for these time sensitive shipments. Airfreight We regularly handle airfreight clearance and deliveries in Entebbe, Lusaka, Dar es Salaam and Nairobi. We have the requisite expertise to handle temperature controlled products to and from Entebbe, Uganda. Warehousing & Distribution Magellan operates warehouses in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza. The warehouse in Dar es Salaam handles fast moving consumer goods such as soaps, toiletries and hygiene products. The warehouse in Mwanza caters to the mining industry and stores activated carbon and chemicals. We also handle final mile deliveries within the city of Dar es Salaam on behalf of a multinational corporation. For this project, we have invested in trucks of varying capacity and deliver our client s products on a daily basis to their buyers. We have stationed our team members on the client s premises to act as the focal point for the various trading desks of the client. 8 9
