Post Fukushima: responsible vendor approach 11

Despite the tragic Fukushima accident nuclear energy is expected to grow further World -6% USA and Canada % Installed capacity GWt, reference scenario Latin America Western Europe Central Europe South Africa 030 Middle East and North Africa Russia India China South-East Asia Korea Japan Rosatom s scenario before Fukushima Rosatom s scenario after Fukushima Source: Rosatom Fukushima accident did not engender the cancelation of national programs for nuclear energy development in the majority of countries, but became a raison for temporarily halt in clearance of some new construction sites. The review of safety requirements and prolongation of licensing terms are the main reasons of that. 10

NSSS (Russian suppliers) 43,4 17,4 Turbine and generator equipment Civil construction & engineering 145,0 17,4 Valves, pumps and piping 6,0 Electrical equipment ~ 15% - Russian supply ~ 30-40% - local content ~ 45-50% - global sourcing 17,4 8,7 14,5 Other equipment I&C Air cooling systems Rosatom needs to re-invent its global supply chain

Russia-RSA cooperation in nuclear field 3

Russian - South-African Cooperation in Nuclear Field Background and Current Status Pebble Bed Modular Reactor Enriched Uranium Products Starting 000, Nukem Group was involved in the construction of the PBMR fuel plant: 4 contracts with PBMR were signed throughout the project timeline Russian JSC Tenex is a traditional supplier of enriched uranium products to South Africa s Koeberg NPP The contract for supplies was signed during state visit of the President of the Republic of South Africa J.Zuma Other cooperation areas NTP Radioisotopes Pty. used to supply Rosatom VO Izotop with radioisotope products. A consortium of Rosatom organizations participated in the isotope reactor construction tender (DIPR project) until it was frozen early in 01. 4

Russia - South-Africa Strategic Cooperation in Nuclear Field Perspective A new era of Russia South Africa cooperation Strong intergovernmental support for bilateral collaboration strengthening and widening (ITEC, JCC meetings) We propose long-term strategic partnership in joint development of nuclear sector in South Africa as well as joint implementation of Rosatom overseas projects Nuclear new build program Research reactors construction Nuclear fuel cycle products and services Human resources development Uranium and rare metals mining Research & development 5
