2 CONVEYOR TECHNOLOGY IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY Nowadays the requirements for the special conditions in the automotive industry are more and more complex for this purpose Hohmeier supplies suitable solutions in order to achieve a high level of efficiency, flexibility and ergonomics. The centerpiece of the conveyor technology in the automotive industry are our flat conveyors allowing the assembly personnel to accompany the workflow side by side with the product. Thus, signs of fatigue and overstrain are reduced as far as possible as continuous movement alongside the production is no longer necessary for the workers. Our special drive technology ensures the flat conveyor is perfectly synchronized leading to maximum productivity during assembly. Dummy Flat Conveyor Edge platform Ramp PRODUCTIVITY HAS NEVER BEEN THAT SIMPLE FLAT CONVEYOR Hohmeier succeeded in developing a flat conveyor providing a modular, flexible and easy installation. Our conveyors can be connected in series or operated as stand-alone versions. Within shortest time, they can be installed anywhere and displaced by means of our plug-and-play principle. Filled with dummies, a cost-efficient and adjustable layout with a very low construction height of only 120 mm is created. DUMMIES Dummies are produced in frame construction made of laser edge profiles and fill the gaps between the conveyors. Optionally the dummies are produced with lighting or with grids and possibly with drip pans below. Moreover, they can be easily repositioned and their modular dimensions provide high flexibility for the complete production line. For a large range of applications, we offer dummies in quarter, half and three-quarter length as well as in half widths. PLATFORMS Platforms are made of welded tube frames which are firmly doweled to the floor. They are used when flexibility is no longer required.the platforms which are firmly fixed to the floor secure the position of worker belts or dummies. The free selection of their dimensions allow to define the total surface of the construction irrespective of the modular dimensions. The protection unit completes this assembly group. RAMPS Our ramps as well as the platforms are also produced in tube frame construction and balance the height difference between the hall floor and the platform height. They are individually produced in different lengths, widths and inclinations according to customers requirement. Ramps provide the important advantage that it is no longer required that the assembly line is embedded into the floor. 3 THE IMPORTANT ADVANTAGE OF MODULAR DESIGN In contrast to an expensive continuous conveyor the modular flat conveyors provide the desired production cycle for the worker s belt technology. If requirements are modified, e.g. in case of a model change, the conveyors are simply repositioned. Thus, a completely new configuration is created together with the dummies. The low construction height of 120 mm allows installing our modular worker belts later without any foundation work. In contrast to worker belts which are produced from one piece, a fast repair in less than 30 minutes is possible in case of damage thanks to the modular design, as only one conveyor is stopped and can be replaced by a reserve conveyor. THE PLANNING Together with the customer we work out a layout under consideration of the constructional conditions and the working conditions at the assembly lines. We realize any required superstructures or elevations as well as applications on lines with grades or slopes. Thus, any assembly parts falling down onto the conveyor are easily and safely collected and can later be removed by releasing the cover.
